Default THANKS TO EVERYONE...issue solved

THANKS to everyone who answered my post.

I finally found out what was causing my ps3 to malfuntion (not play some Bluray discs... mainly Universal and ironman).

I started working with the scientific method... 1 step observation (no further steps were needed), I tried 2 more times before unplugging my PS3... and taking it to the repair shop... neither of these worked... so as I finally gave up... but I tried once more and observed the ps3 from 12" away (maybe in frustration)... and something caught my attention... there was some blinking from the PS3 HDD LED... (I think it was OK because of the BD Live feature), but then my WD portable HDD LED blinked too... and few miliseconds later the CF card slot, SD card slot and MS slot blinked too... I got suspicious, so I removed all of them from the PS3, and trid the ironman disc one more time (fourth time in the night)... AND IT WORKED PRETTY FAST...

tried all Universal movies I got (Bourne trilogy and Hulk) those worked loke a charm too...

I reconnected everything with the movie running to see if something happens and it did... A warning from the PS3 apeared informing that all devices ports were already in use... (which I have seen before when you connect more than 4 storage units (MC,SD,CF,HDD, etc)

I jumped into conclusions... when i had everything connected the ps3 tried to write something on the ps3 cache... but as all 4 storage units slots were used, I think the ps3 wasnt able to create a lint to the cache... therefore causing the malfuntion...

does my idea sound any possible or potencially wrong???

Let me know

THAT TOTALLY MAKES SENSE!!!

This JUST happened to me with Inglourious Basterds!!!

I KNEW I read somewhere that this was happening to somebody.

Thank you man.

I have a memory stick duo and an SD card in the slots of my original 80Gig and last night I was charging my PSP3000 and my PsP Go at the same time so I'm thinking that even though I didn't get the warning...I maxed out the memory capacity. I'm going to try that later.

Thanks Holmes,

~LD

Why don't you have it??

Of course, my 80GB motorstorm PS3 has been a 500GB motorstorm ps3 for quite a while now.

Also...kudos on the blu tooth keyboard.

So much better right?? Now you can send obnoxiously long messages to people and have them reply "k"

I'm guessing it'll be near the beginning of March as its been following a quarterly schedule fairly closely.

mine sadly bit the dust about 6 months after i got it, its a long tale of woe that has also led to my hatred of best buy, ive posted it here on various threads two or three times, but im still bitter about it, not really, but a little, i miss the ps2 emulation, but not as much since the GOW collection, its slowly getting better, i guess it true, all you need is time to get over a rough breakup

my ps3 now is a 320 GB, but i may need to upgrade again though, i keep a lot of music and movies and stuff on there, for days when im super tires (or hungover) and dont feel like getting out of bed to put in a blu ray, i can just watch some episodes of a tv show, or a movie or something without moving

and yeah, the keyboard makes sending messages a LOT less painful, and it will become increasingly valuable the more i play online, but the main reason i got it was to organize the about movies and tv shows and music, etc into more manageable folders because right now, all of my tv episodes are all in one huge folder, there are like 500 something items in the folder, it takes about a minute or two to scroll from one end to the other

I just got notified to download system update 3.21, but I wanted to download the Heavy Rain demo first so I cancelled it. Now when I try to update my system it doesn't show any listed.

Interesting. Maybe they accidentally pushed an update they're starting to put into wide testing to the wrong server? It doesn't look like anyone else has spotted it so far, maybe we can expect an update in a week or two.

Maybe....I tried like 5 minutes later after I noticed no one posted in this thread about getting the update and nothing....very strange and I know that I wasn't seeing things as it specifically asked me if I wanted to update before I opened the PSN store.

Ahhh, I'm mad they got rid of the ability to change songs while already playing a song, I have to stop the song now to pick another one. Argh.

You should be able to if you hit the PS button.

Go to Settings -> Music Settings -> Playback/Audio Frequency (whatever it's called) and change it from 96kHz to 48kHz. Then you'll be able to hit the PS button and browse the XMB while listening to music like before the update.

Is there an up to date version of Flash for anything but Windows that doesn't perform like crap?

The sooner Flash is phased out in favour of HTML5 for a great deal of simple tasks, the better!

Sounds like we're getting 3.20 next week. Probably. Any hope for the region-free PAL Blu-ray bug getting fixed, or should we send the national guard to neogaf now?
