I tried leaving my PS3 off for a while and I'm not experiencing this problem.

I've also booted up Ratchet & Clank Future and the DUALSHOCK3 settings don't appear (along with the existing controller number reassignment) when I press the PS button so I guess they only appear if the right controller is detected.

Here is is another question, does anyone know, using a playstation 3 adaptor to to let you use your ps2 controller on your ps3, and having the new update, will this allow the ps2 controller have the rumble feaure at least on the ps2 games you play on it.

What a crappy update so far. I can't believe this is what they came up with as 2.0. It feels more like 1.97 or so.

edit: i really enjoy how they made it so you can just use the icons for the themes and use the original moving background image

Sorry. Kind of a noob here. Can someone quickly explain the difference between connecting via the Internet and connecting via a Private Network? Thanks.

Actually, using a PS2 pad adapter, rumble has been enabled for quite some time now, the new update enables it for the Dual Shock 3 pad. Thats all. I've been enjoying PS2 rumble for months.

The PS2 pad adapter I use was really for my PC, but on the off chance it also works on the PS3! Amazing! I got mine of ebay for under £10. It is a Y shape cable, USB at one end and 2x PS2 controller ports at the other. Bargain! Search "Playstation to PC adapter" on ebay! Chances are Sony have released an official one costing about 3x as much, but I've never investigated because this method works. I've held out buying a second PS3 pad waiting for the rumble feature to be worked back into the sixaxis, but my adapter lets me play 3 player warhawk happily enough (albeit motion controls can't be used, but they suck on warhawk anyways; very novel yes, but no good in the heat of the battle)

Sorry for the long answer, I guess I could have just said "PS2 rumble already works"

I have updated my Japanese PS3 to 2.0

still waiting for the UK version for my other ps3 to appear on the website (I do manual upgrade for all of them)

nice, I must say, but I found the information bar disturbing, so I turned it off. Also the XMB, I switched to blue and red from original colour, but when you start up your ps3, it will appear in original colour first, then slowly turned into the colour you chose. I hope sony will fix this.

Lucky you. Now I have discovered that my PS3 turn on and off twice, before it shuts down for good (the red "standby" light is on). While I was relieved that it is seemingly back to how it was before I downloaded update 2.00, I can't seem to turn on my PS3 with my PSP like you should be able to do.

Am I doing something wrong?

I thought the update allowed you to turn on your PS3 with your PSP. Now that my PS3 system is off, it won't let me turn it on with my PSP.

And yes, the option "Remote Start" is "on" on my PS3. Can someone help me out here?

Thanks!

Downloaded it last night but I need you all to chime in (especially those who changed their HDD) After the update was downloaded and installed the system rebooted it self as usual, but this time it came up with an error stating "proper HDD not found" I rebooted the system manually and it then came up with a message about updating either archive or something like that (it was late so I was alittle tired) after that happened the system was fine and everything came back as normal. So did anyone else have this issue? please let me know.

If you think either A) the 360 does not have major problems or B) that your luck with it is bad feel free to ask me about any of the 11 I had during the first 9 months of owning it.

I never saw an error but it did add a new message about updating the database for this update..

You can now play a video as it downloads from the PlayStation Store. There's a new PLAY button above the 'Perform in Background' button and you can also triangle-button a video already downloading in Download Management and select 'Play' there.

it takes like 2 seconds when it boots up to load your skin design for me, and i dont think they can change that.

i have mine with the original background in red with brightness set to low and the neon light icons, looks good

and the japanese theme icons are sweet too, too many to chose from and im making some

Thats the message, but it did not show up for me at first, I had to manually reboot the system then the database update came up and everything was fine. I just worry about the HDD (Western Digital 160GB) being faulty not sure why this happened either as the other PS3 with the factory 60GB HDD had no trouble at all.

Minor issue. Once 2.0 was downloaded to my PS3, the PS button on my remote wouldn't activate the install. Had to use one of my controllers.
