If you're a bunch of friends then the splitscreen is a blast, but I agree the singleplayer is a little meh..

Best Buy has it for 20 bucks this week. I think it might be worth a purchase.

If you don't have it already and you like arcade racers, it's Definitely worth the $20. This is still my favorite racer on PS3 so far.

I thought pacific rift was an awesome game. but its not for the faint of heart, its definitely a difficult game as you progress through the single player.

Pacific Rift filled out the light MotorStorm feature-set but not enough went into exciting new ideas, the highly physical racing is still unique but I expect more surprises. The new environment, resulting change and increase in hazards, made the game frequently frustrating whereas MS Monument Valley just had a few rough spots.. and the last few tickets.

I just got the game last week at BB for $20, are the add on tracks worth the $10.00? Are they 1 player also and not just for online?

So far I have had the ps3 for a month and the game for a week and love it, just thinking about spending a little bit of money looking at the great price I picked up the game for.

This game is fun as hell, much better than the 1st one. More game modes, load times improved, multiplayer, custom soundtracks (the latter 2 should be a no brainer for racing games). I'm glad I bought it, I still don't like the rubberband A.I., that's probably my only complaint about this game.

This is the only game that nearly made me break a controller. It gets so damn frustrating in the higher level races. I think I will be stuck at 19% for the trophies for a while.

I can't remember where I am progress-wise. I lost a lot of it when I had a hard drive crash and didn't have a recent backup. I hated having to redo a lot of it. Anyway, as far as the races are concerned, I thought it seemed to work out better when not rushing. Whenever I'd take my time and concentrate more on what I was doing instead of always trying to be in front, it seemed to work out the best. I'd usually win the race or at least be in the top 3. A lot of it seemed to be just figuring out the best path to take for the various vehicles.

By the last races it becomes nearly pure strategy. You really have to figure out the best route for the type of vehicle you're in... oh and if you crash once you're screwed haha
