You're right, i am hoping for a subscription fee but only if the quality is consistently high or the fee at least justifies what we do get & to me, £7-9 a month as long as it's a great experience would be worthwhile but if it's proven a F2P micro-transactions or other method can give us just as good a game experience without charging outlandish prices for virtual things A lá Home does & gives those players who do buy an unfair edge, i'm all for it

It's interesting to note that they say that we'll have open servers between PC & PS3 in the article as well as Dualshock 3 compatibility on PC but my question is whether we'll be able to use our characters on both platforms, irrespective of the platform it was created on & if they'll offer a PC & PS3 disk combo for people that wish to play on both platforms

DCUO continues to be on my short of list heavily anticipated titles right up there with Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Onelastcontinue had an opportunity to talk to Wes Yanagi, Senior Producer at Sony Online Entertaintment at Gamescom 2009, go hands on with the game, and came away impressed despite the game still being in pre-alpha. Wes revealed several details on gameplay, character creation, and one big suprise: no subscription fee.

A few other interesting details from their interview and impressions:
* You have to prove your worth before your recruited by a group (such as the Justice League)
* The ability to map your buttons to a DualShock 3 or to a USB Keyboard
* Open platform servers for cross-compatibility between the PS3 and PC versions

Also, i would like to point out that the link you provided, linked to the source i posted on the previous page & got to say, for people to be wary as my link says, they got a strong impression it would be free to play & Sony Insider is reporting as concrete

I'm personally holding till an official announcement to help clear all this up

Yeah, I know, I thought the article was a bit fishy, but still, It'll be awesome if the game was cross compatible and can use the keyboard and mouse on PS3.

Oh, and by 2 out of 3, I mean it has cros compatible play with the use of a keyboard and mouse, but no subscription fee.

Things have been really quiet with this one (ither than the animation contest) but something came up recently that I thought I'd share - it's basically flown under the radar everywhere on the gaming and comic side other than IGN and Comic Book Resources.

DC to launch weekly series set in world of DC Universe Online | Robot 6 @ Comic Book Resources – Covering Comic Book News and Entertainment

On the heels of announcing two new biweekly miniseries, DC Comics has unveiled plans for a weekly title set in the world of DC Universe Online, the highly anticipated massively multiplayer game from Sony Online Entertainment.

DC Universe: Legends, which will debut later this year, is an attempt by the publisher and SOE to bridge the comic-book and gaming audiences. But just how will they go about doing that?

"First, we're going to set up the conceit of the universe, how it works and what the rules are," DC Comics Executive Editor Dan DiDio tells IGN.com. "We'll also be trying to work gaming tips and secrets into the body of the book as we move along in the series. You'll see a lot of support material including turnarounds and designs that went into the actual building of the game.

"What I think is the most exciting thing is that, if everything is working as well as we hope once we get down the line, characters that players create actually have an opportunity to work their way from the game into the comics themselves."

DiDio also announced that Tony Bedard and Dan Jurgens will write Legends. Other creators will be named later.

i totally forgot about this game! now im getting excited about it again!
