Sucker Punch Auditioning For inFamous 2, Possibly Recasting Main Character

Both Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch have shed their mascot platforming pasts in the PlayStation 3 generation. The latter's hero (or anti-hero, if you choose) adventure, inFamous, struck a chord with gamers earlier this year and Sucker Punch appears keen to move forward on inFamous 2…but apparently Sucker Punch is recasting its main character, Cole McGrath, in the process.

"First voiceover/motion capture audition today for a video game," said actor David Sullivan over Twitter this morning. "Re-casting of Cole in the sequel of Infamous. 'I'll melt your face.' e.g"

Cole was previously voiced by actor Jason Cottle. According to Cottle's IMDB profile, he is currently not working on anything else at the moment. His last project is listed as inFamous.

Sullivan is probably best known for starring in the indie time track flick Primer (which comes highly recommended if you're interested in a realistic take on the pitfalls of time travel). He asked for advice from his Twitter followers, including actress Yvette Nicole Brown, who voiced Moya in the first game. It's unclear if she's returning in inFamous 2.

"You would be AWESOME as 'Cole'!" she told Sullivan. "Go BOOK it, buddy! "

According to Sullivan's Twitter timeline, he should actually be at the audition right now. I've reached out to Sony regarding Sullivan's comments, but do not expect much of an answer.

I don't like it when minor characters are recast in a series, so you could imagine how I feel about it being a major character being replaced. That being said, I thought that there wasn't going to be a sequel? It's not that I would be opposed to one, it's just that I heard it was a stand alone game.

I hope replacing the guy who does Cole's voice is somewhat acceptable, as long as they don't turn Cole into Nicole is fine by me! That having said, ever since I finished the game for the first time, I already knew a sequel would be coming. The story is too attractive not to have a sequel, IMHO.

If they do it right this might work. I just hope they don't get away from what made the first one so great, which was great game play with an even better story

I hope things change and they bring back the original voice actor. Or atleast get someone who's not too different.

That being said, Cole's voice will not make-or-break Infamous 2. The gameplay and story where fantastic and thats what im looking for in the sequel.

But one day I'll just pop the game back in when I have a bunch of time to kill and find the last two.

I had used one before to round up the last couple of them but there were 2 missing from the map...

I'll take a look at that one next time I play the game

No problem. I can't say this map is a 100% accurate, but at least I go by it and I've got all 350 on all 3 of my play throughs. Good luck.

I picked up this game after reading all the positive feedback on it...I must say, I have been very impressed. It's challenging enough to keep my attention but not too much so that I want to turn it off and give up on it.
I got it on Wednesday and tooled around while I was "working remotely" and played a couple hours after I logged out. Then I hit it hard on Saturday and took my time exploring the Neon District before going onto

[Show spoiler] "Dinner with Sasha"

to get as many stunts and trophies as possible while picking up the shards. If you need to explore an island looking for shards, using the radar while riding on top of a train or a car works really well! I'm still missing a couple in the Neon but I want to say I picked up over 130 of them there. Does that sound right?

On Sunday afternoon, the Eagles were losing so I turned them off and put the game back in and played until the start of the Phillies game.

In my free time all I can think about is playing this game...scary!

Playing as good first because I figure it's best to do it the good way and then be a bastard on my second play through.

But I can see this game sitting after acheiving platinum trophy status...mainly for lack of online upgrades.

One additional thing - my game didn't require any updates. I found that very odd - every other game I have played (mostly all game with online features) have required some kind of update. Was the code that good that it didn't have bugs? Or did I just get an updated disc?

No, as far as I can recall, there is no upgrade / update for this game.

Even tho there probably SHOULD be. I noticed a LOT of clipping and other small visual glitches throughout. It also locked up on me once, and there were a couple of occasions where Cole simply refused to move/jump past a certain point. Very weird.

Didn't detract from my overall enjoyment of this game tho. GREAT job by Sucker Punch.

yeah - I went to do the rail surfing trick and it froze on me - 1st time that happened on my new Slim unit

^ really? This game only froze on me once a while along... and that happened on my older lanuch 60Gb. I think it was just a random incident.

I've had it freeze up on me one time, when I was doing the drone mission. It seemed like a random thing because it never happened before, and hasn't happened since. I've done that mission about 4 or 5 times.

yeah - it froze the slim and the only thing that got it back was powering off and back on

didn't do it after that and I wasn't in a "marathon" like I was in the 1st day I was playing it
