Default Just received my copy of The Crow

I am not very happy as this disk will not play in 1080i, it will only play in standard def.

Could this be one of those awfull disks that are encripted so that you have to view it over an HDMI cable instead of component as I have about 30 BD's and have never had a problem watching in 1080i with component.

Couldit be BD+?

Also it is region B only

this will only play in 1080 via HDMI and not component

Also mpeg 2 so image is really grainy and I would go as far as to say this is the worst looking movie I have on BD

They were probably using an old master-1

And 2, The Crow is a low budget film shot mostly at night

This disc isn't due out until September 30th in the UK, and it's obvious you got the Entertainment in Video UK edition as it's not even on the US schedule yet. Are you sure you didn't get the DVD by mistake?

I'll buy that disc off of you, if you're unhappy with it, I've got HDMI for my blu ray player.

Are you sure it's only Region B? Amazon UK claims it is All Region.

You should call up your distributor then and find out if they enabled the IMage Constraint token

There were some details here, including saying the EIV releases such as The Crow would be Region B coded.

As these are the first EIV releases, it might be that use of the image constraint token will be standard for everything they release. A shame that people in the US can't get some of these titles just yet, though.

I'd love to. This one and Fear and Loathing (German) have been on my wish lists forever. The prices are just killing me.

I heard the writer was planning a Director's Cut of his graphic novel and they were going to release a special extended version of the movie to coincide with the release. Supposedly it should have come out now but looks like next year is a possibility but then again James has been talking about this special cut for years.

I've read that release was pretty bad.

The Japanese release is much better.

The UK release is 1080i, and from what I heard, not very good at all.
