This probably explains why they had nothing left to spend on the movie's plot then.

If you're trying to be funny, then I won't try to correct your ignorance of the filmmaking process.

Please for the LOVE of ALL things good, let the 3D phase be gone before 3 hits. I think that would be the only thing to keep me from seeing 3. Although doing a Transformers movie in 3D may not be feasible unless Bay has a Ginormous budget.

Bay has said that he doesn't like 3D and thinks it's a gimmick that woudn't work with the frantic way he shoots and edits, so you don't have to worry about Transformers 3 using it.

Oh, I'm supposed to be able to know a lot about the filmmaking process before I can comment, is that right?

I like this movie and the source material more than most, but even so, I can't argue with some of the comments that have been rallied about the plot (or lack thereof). Considering the myriad special effects and so forth that go into movies like this, you'd think the plot would be the easy part.

If you're a fan of the source material at all, then you'd know that "Decepticons seek to activate Energon-making device to fuel their army" is a very fitting plot. The execution on the other hand leaves a little something to be desired; if they'd axed Bay's toilet humor and cut the film's runtime by about 10 minutes I think it would have faired better.

Ok, I just have to comment on this movies quality. Not the audio and video scores but the actual film its self.

There seems to be quite a bit of TF2 bashing (understandably) in this thread by those who loved the first film and were dissapointed by the results of the second and those who didn't really like the first one and now don't like the second one either.

I have also read comments from those who love both of these films equally.

What I am not really seeing much of is those who are like me.

I thought the first TF was merely "ok". It was watchable but the sweeping camera, and super up-close shots, coupled with the new look of the 'bots left me wanting for more...then along comes TF2 and what does it do? It delivers more!!!

I honestly felt that the second TF was far superior in every regard. I like the fact that the camera is pulled back some now so I can actually see (better anyway) who is doing what to who.

I like the "plot" of this movie more, I was glad to see characters return from the first film, including the military characters. I look at the military characters as the ones I can identify with the most. Plus in a film about giant robots bringing their war to Earth there HAS to be a story involving the government. Anything else would be extremely odd...why would any government not care about what's happening? They would get involved to be sure.

I also liked the fact that this film at least attempted to have a sense of humor. Sure some of the jokes fall flat (the mom eating pot brownies was not really funny at all, although it could have been if they would have made her act like someone who really is stoned for the first time) but there are more than a few smiles to be had during the course of the movie. I didn't think the first one was really that funny and I feel that having a sense of humor would have made it more enjoyable.

I liked the action scenes more. As already stated, the camera has a LOT to do with this. I hope in the third fillm (Bay) decides to pull the camera back even more so that we can get the "grand majestic" shot of several 'bots running toward the camera, all of them side by side with guns blazin'!!! (of course I am just dreaming)

And finally I liked the fact that this movie is two and a half hours long. I really enjoyed this movie considerably more than I had expected. The BD transfer is amazing and thus having a longer movie just gives us more time to enjoy the goodness!!!

Sorry for the long post.

I think the whether or not you like the TF2 humor depends on what kind of humor you like in your movies.

I prefer the situational humor in the new Star Trek movie as opposed to the slap stick humor in TF2. But everyone's different.

Not to bash anyone, but I thought this comic of someone defending the TF2 film was pretty funny:

Add me to the list of people who liked Anderson's character in the first movie. Matter of fact, I loved his character. I wish he and Voight were back for this one
Australian woman (forgot the character name), eh, she could have come back, but it didn't really bother me that she wasn't.

I really did enjoy Anderson's character as well, but I suppose he didn't really fit in anymore without the Australian woman since she was the reason why he got involved in the actual story of the first one. Her name was Maggie, btw. As far as Jon Voight, I was kind of surprised he wasn't brought back for the second one. Anderson and Voight not being in the second one weren't dealbreakers for me by any means, but I wouldn't have minded either being there again of course.

Yea, he didn't really fit in the story they told, so it makes sense Anderson wasn't back. But it would have been great if he did have a role

Voight definitely should have been around, he should have been in the role that they gave to Aaron Pierce from 24 (whatever his name is) even though I like that guy. You'd think someone higher up than a 3star general would be in charge of running the program that deals with protecting the planet from giant evil alien robots.

Maybe they can find a way to bring Anderson back for the third one, but I have my doubts. Who knows.

I don't know his name either, so I'll just call him Aaron Pierce too. I could look him up, but I'm lazy. Anyways, I think him running the program was fine and liked that he was brought back. Jon Voight's character could have easily still been in it though.

I liked Voight's character from the first movie as well. From what I've read he was supposed to be in this one and his character supposedly was now President. But I think he opted out and decided to take the role he played in the 24 tv show.

Again this all stuff that I've read from various sources so I don't know how accurate they are.

A lot of people thought it was a plot whole that Pierce was back since his character died in the first movie.

I'm not sure if they call him by name in the second movie, but it was a totally different character, just same actor.

Voight needs to be back for 3
