Absolutely understood; I was alluding to a double dip on my part, not of Disney's design. Great news in any case!

What's up with the $34.99 catalog prices from Disney?

Anyway, I will get these. Like Wicky said, it will be at least another year before Weinstein releases the Whole Bloody Affair.

Have to admit, I'm going to wait for "The Whole Bloody Affair"... I want to see both films back as one, uncut, and view it all the way through. This was a fantastic movie!

Thanks Spikes! I love the Kill Bill films but wasn't aware of the Whole Bloody Affair film. I may just wait for that.

It also has the Crazy 88 scene in color and one other edit needed to miss the NC-17

This will definitely be a double dip. I've been waiting so long for the BD versions though so I guess I'll have to bite. At least we're getting something...

Any conspiracy theorists out there?... Perhaps Disney moved these back into 2008 because they know that Weinstein will be releasing the Whole Bloody Affair "soon", thus possibly diminishing the value of the individual theatrical releases.

BTW, movie collectors are quite funny, and must drive the studios nuts. I find it odd that people clamor for "original theatrical mono soundtracks" on titles like Jaws, but then want to wait for something like The Whole Bloody Affair rather than buying Kill Bill 1& 2 as it was released in the theaters. Sure, some will respond and say, "Quentin meant it to be one movie." But the fact remains that it was not how they were released theatrically.

Probably cuz they know people will not blink at paying that much.

And the opposite holds true for Grindhouse. It was released as a single movie in the theaters and then butchered and separated for DVD releases. It needs to be released as a single Blu-ray movie.

That is definately not the case.

Not if you take into account the overriding principle of the artist's original vision. Most of the time these remixes are not done with the director/sound engineer's direct supervision and input, many times these remixes have errors in them (missing sound FX in ST:TOS for example, or redone sound FX like totally changing the beamcannon/saber sound FX in Gundam, or the new shotgun style gun blasts in Terminator, or Luke's girly scream (now thankfully un-done in the DVD SEs) in ESB.

Grindhouse was by and large 2 seperate movies theatrically in most other countries

Default Bloody affair

These discs just aren't worth having especially since Quentin has confirmed the release of the Whole Bloody Affair. There is no release date yet for this new title as it will hit theaters before blu!!!! However, this will be the ultimate edition including directer's cut with never before seen footage and a new animation sequence!!!! Yes, The Whole Blood Affair is alive but is still about a year away!!!
