The one thing I hate about the US release of the original Starship Troopers is that it plays the trailer for the third movie upon startup. I'd prefer not to be reminded of that trash every time I see the one good movie in the series. Even if it is only for a few seconds while I press the next chapter button.

I saw a preveiw for this on the Regal first look and Starship Troopers looks really stupid. Cheesy as hell. I would laugh my ass off during this movie if I ever watched it. How do you guys watch this crap? Don't you have better things to do with your time

Cool. I've been waiting for the fix before buying. Wonder when the fixed version will be in shops?

Dear Valued Consumer,

Thank you for your e-mail. We appreciate your interest in Sony Pictures Home Entertainment products.

To receive an exchange for the Starship Troopers Blu-ray disc, please return your Blu-ray disc (case not needed) to the following address:

SPHE Consumer Support
PO Box 157
Neenah, WI 54957
Attn:

Please be sure to include your return address (no PO Boxes) and a copy of this email. Your replacement will be shipped to you via Fed Ex Ground, and please allow 3-5 weeks for delivery.

Regards,

SPHE Consumer Affairs Team

THANK YOU FOR THE UPDATE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called and talked to a rep, got the same info as above, and they gave me a reference number and put my info into the computer, so it might be better to make a call first. I also made it very clear that I was upset by the fact that I had to ship the disc back to them at my expense for their error. They wouldn't do anything, but I pointed out to Sony the way WB handled the BTTF disc repalcement by sending out a pre-paid mailer to customers. I spoke with a supervisor and clued them in on how Warner handled the situation and it seemed like that would be inclined to adress the matter. So if you do call, take the time to voice your opinion. If enough unhappy consumers make their voice heard, then in the future that may do things differently.

This is actually a fairly intelligent satire movie masquerading as a mindless action flick, so it would be a mistake to dismiss it so quickly. Also, I know this is stunning news, but many people have differing tastes and opinions and enjoy things that you do not!

The UK, the Australian, and the Japanese versions, I believe, do not have the same issue. At least the originally released fist film, the UK version for sure does not.

I can confirm that the UK version does not have this mistake.

It appears Sony in the US is offering a replacement program, but I doubt there are already fixed discs on the shelves. When these fixed discs eventually reach shelves, hopefully someone will be able to provide UPC or other information to help buyers make sure they are getting the fixed version.

From what the rep told me on the phone the corrected versions are now in stores.

Is there any way to tell the new corrected versions by their cover?

Ill look at my disc when I get home and see if that issue existed before I start sending email to Sony about it.

I don't think i've watched the entire thing, got interrupted when I started to watch it never got a chance to finish it.

That's the point, it's supposed to be funny. I tell people it's a comedy if they're watching it for the first time. Similar to the original Dawn of the Dead, Army of Darkness, even Hellboy, and a bunch of others I can't think of right now...

The rep I spoke with wasn't sure if the corrected version was in the stores or when it would be. He said that like the Fifth Element, it would likely have a new UPC code sticker identifying the corrected version as "remasted," but didn't know what the UPC code would be. He was real sharp... but helpful otherwise.

You should watch the featuretts hidden in there is secret agenda that the director lets known during one of the featuretts.

And he drops a super bomb on the viewer.

[Show spoiler]He makes reference that the viewer actually never sees the bug launch an attack on the humans, he pokes out that the humans attacked the bugs first. And that the bugs only retaliated being attacked.

Yes, but what about:

[Show spoiler]The Mormon colony. The bug meteor (asteroid)
.

[Show spoiler] I always thought the Mormon colony had moved into the already-occupied bug territory, so they were attacked (commentary on the Middle East), but the asteroid was unprovoked, no?
