I like the art but the Warner Blu-ray stripe needs to go. If their going to use that, they should put the white "b" logo only on the outside (maybe some stickers on the wrapper for easy identification) and then packcage the discs in a regular plastic case. I of course assume from the shape that this will be loaded with trinkets.

EDIT: Apparently with these types of cases, the Warner stripe is part of a paper backing and is meant to be removed when unwrapping. WB should make that more obvious online and in promo art/photos.

Totally agree, the art is beautiful, but that blue strip must go.

You know I saw the Wizard of Oz art on that thread earlier today. Looks like it's the same size as the I Am Legend set. I've never complained much about the different formats that've come out for BDs, but I really hate this one. For this design, I'm gonna sound like a bunch of posters here saying "It won't look good on my shelf." The size is what put me off on buying I Am Legend. I'll probably get The Wizard of Oz because the film is a draw for me. But the funky size is not.

I sincerely hope they offer a version that'll fit on my shelf. At least the big ass Casablanca and A Christmas Story box sets were designed with that in mind.

Uh, when it says "Ultimate Collector's", that's Warner-ese for "Big $90 box with Stuff."

It probably won't be the ONLY version we see on stores (as it was with Casablanca, which had too many old HD demons for them), and we'll probably get the alternate Case-only version, but at least we know they're working on concept art...
Er, that is the reason we're posting these, isn't it, iF?

Yeah, but this time the box art is awesome IMO. My favorite color is red .

I agree. Although, I love my Planet of the Apes set the dimensions of the set makes it difficult to be stored in a shelf.

Hopefully the blue is just a paper strip, like the Casablanca case.

Was that how the I Am Legend deluxe set was?

I wish they would also sell these movies in a digibook or regular case as well. I can do without all the little trinkets and other extras.

Same here. These sets are overkill IMO.

Listen, I know I could be wrong about this...but there's something phony about this. I was a little suspicious by the Wizard of Oz yesterday since it's pictured but no date, no price, no anything from WB. An internet search revealed nothing, either. And the "artwork subject to change" heightened my suspicions.

And now GWTW. I know the art from the box, it is from a rerelease poster, but it has been badly cropped and I can't believe the studio would issue it looking like that.

I know both titles are due out this year, but I can't help feeling this is the work of some fan with Photoshop or something. Again, I really do hope I am wrong because I want both titles very much, but something just looks wrong about this.

bluskies, often times it will have the "Artwork Subject to Change" I have seen it a lot. Granted it was AMZ.uk, but still holds true. I think the 'Batman' covers still have "Artwork TBA" on them, but the artwork is the same as the ones that where actually used.

I'm not saying your wrong, just wanted to put the possibility in that they are legit

A moment ago, I went over to highdefdigest.com and saw a thread about this and several posters there say this is nothing new, that the artwork has been up on Amazon for both titles for several months, so I think we can forget about them until WB comes out with official release info.

Oh I know.

And as someone who runs a page that deals a lot with AMZ, take it from me: You can't trust everything you see there.

These images have an air of legitimacy to them and fits in well with how we know Warner operates. These exclusive boxset editions of classic movies are all about squeezing out a profit from the relatively small fanbase among Blu-ray owners that want these movies. I guarantee everyone we will eventually see normal editions of all of these movies in standard packaging. It could be a year or more but we will get them.
