The action sequences were more intense and more imaginative, the villians were more menacing (in particular General Grevious was done far better then in either Revenge of the Sith or The new series), annoying characters like Jar Jar and Ziro the Hutt were no where to be found, and the story had a much bigger effect on the movie. In partcular Anakin's fall is forshadowed better in Tarvokosky's Clone Wars then any of the prequels in a moment strongly remenisent of The Empire Strikes Back. Even the very best episode of the new series didn't match any 22 minute block of the microseries. Tarvokosky's Clone Wars is simply the best cartoon series ever based on a movie and is something I would love to have on Blu-Ray. The new series has its moments but its clear that Gennedy Tarvokosky new what he was doing more then Lucas or any of the new creaters do.
I haven't watched the new CGI show but I have to agree with a lot of this statement above. I was skeptical when I saw the animation at first, but I watched it and I was very impressed. Tarvokosky's series had some excellent and creative sequences as far as action goes, and some nice little touches for the saga as well. The portrayal of the Jedi is much more impressive and effective than in the films. And yes Grievous was realized far better in this short series than he was in the Episode 2 film (I even thought the voice was more fitting). It's a shame too because while I was watching the series, I kept thinking a lot of it would have been great to see in the films.

I: The Phantom Menace: June 29th 6pm; June 30th 3pm.
II: Attack of the Clones: June 30th 6pm; July 1st 3pm.
III: Revenge of the Sith: July 1st 6pm; July 2nd 3pm.
IV: A New Hope: July 2nd 3pm; July 3rd 3pm.
V: The Empire Strikes Back: July 3rd 6pm; July 4th 3pm.
VI: Return of the Jedi: July 4th 6pm. (Just checked, that's the only showing)

Defintely worth catching.
& as usual SPIKEHD unfortunately probably wont show them OAR.

I couldn't agree more, Tarvokosky really nailed it. I tried watching this new series and I just couldn't care less about it. I watched the movie and maybe the first 4 or 5 episodes before I stopped watching.

That wasn't the cover they had for the mock-up that I held.

Remember, it's going to be book-style with a ton of pages in between the case holders.

Looks like a pop-up. It says resume episode and its showing frames from the show behind it.

Did they tell you around how much the BD and Regular DVD Version were going to be?

I doubt a price as been set for this yet. I guess it's going to be about 70$ on first release. For me the price does not matter, it's Star Wars and I love the series, it's a first day buy.

Ditto.

Which I can definutly say was a mistake. The Clone Wars has gotten better as it went along with some of the later episodes even being on Tarvokoskys level. I think season two will get even better
