United Kingdom Hannibal and Red Dragon

After the release of Silence Of The Lambs on blu, Hannibal and Red Dragon are going to be released on 07/09/2009.

Anybody going to buy them? I've always loved Silence, but have never been a fan of Hannibal and Red Dragon. I like them, I have the dvds, but I don't think they're anywhere near as good as Silence.

Really didn't care for Hannibal when I first caught it at the cinema. Subsequent viewings have drastically changed my mind, and I now rate it highly. I'll certainly be springing for a copy.

Not only a big fan of Hannibal, but also of the original book, to the spirit of which the film was true. Great to see Ridley try his hand at grand guignol horror, good fun.

Red Dragon, on the other hand, isn't fit to lick the boots of Manhunter.

I'm in for Red Dragon if it's region free since there's not even a rumor of that being released here soon.

Default Hannibal UK

Does anyone have the UK Blu-ray of Hannibal?

It looks like the UK release is encoded with VC-1 on a BD-50 vs the US release in MPEG-2.

Can someone comment on the PQ & AQ?

Thanks.

I was hoping for better PQ. I own the German Blu-ray.

I'll wait for the US Blu-ray review. I'm not expecting better PQ with a MPEG-2 encode but I'll wait.

I was hoping to upgrade for the lossless DTS-HD MA over the lossy DTS-HR soundtrack on the German Blu-ray.
