That seem to be a very big box for 13 episodes

So this is only for the UK? Personaly I would prefer a simple 4 disc set , something like Firefly, no gimmick, no collectibles, just the episodes.

Info just added at the site linked above indicates that this set is Region B coded. Too bad.

That is too bad. I just preordered yesterday, taking a chance it would be region-free. I'll have to cancel now.

I'm sure A&E must have the rights in NoAm, and Network in Europe, so I'm not surprised that both versions are locked.

I still haven't cancelled my Network order, but today I noticed that the US A&E set is down to $50 USD. I went ahead and preordered it as well.

At some point I'm going to have to decide! Unless I get a multi-region player, I'll need to cancel the Network set, but I sure would rather have it and its extras.

I noticed in the description on hmv.com a couple of things I am curious about. In the header, they say, "Prisoner: Complete Series: 5blu" but in the description, they say 6 disc set. Also in the description, #10 says "Exclusive book on the making of the series by Andrew Pixley"...but there is no amazon description other than it is 6 discs. By "exclusive," is the book exclusive to HMV (since they have occasional exclusives) or just exclusive to the set and it will be the same if one gets it from Amazon UK?

The book is supplied with all UK copies. It was available with the first 5000 copies of the DVD box and its a very good 288 page paperback, not some flimsy booklet

Network DVD now have it on their website, and they confirm that it's Region B:

This is the first mention I see of English subtitles! Hope it isn't a mistake.

I decided to cancel my Network order before I forget. If it is indeed Region B locked, I can't use it. If I find out that it's not locked, I'll order again after I read confirmation. It sure looks like a nicer set.

Otherwise, I'll settle for the US A&E set for now, which doesn't release until October.

I have been getting in the mood by watching a few episodes.

Amazon UK now shows Sept. 28th as the shipping date.

I cancelled my order a few days ago and decided to wait for the U.S. Edition.

Hmmm. Six of One also reported that the screening that Network arranged in London was cancelled. I wonder if the BD and the screening cancellation are related? I wonder what the problem is?
