This type of non marketing is really starting to piss me off on releases. No info is given for anything. It's like the Wizard Of Oz situation. Here we are 4 days away from release and we don't have all the info on each release.

Because its Walmart and the usual type of customers that shop there, I'm willing to be that the coverart will be exactly like the ads and that the slipcover will be the same as well.

The difference being that unlike the regular blu-ray version, this "big screen" edition will have the title on the coverart and the specs on the back instead of how the regular blu-ray version is...

You don't want to confuse the average joe's at Walmart when it comes to their products....

u're post did nothing but piss me off today!!! i'm a regular shopper @ wal-mart when it comes to groceries or anything.

yeah, they've got some customers there that people make fun of, but that is not the majority of people that shop there.

me & my wife used to do our shopping @ trig's or county market, and compared to wal-mart, we used to spend almost $150 more every shopping trip.

when u've got 2 little ones in the house, that's a pretty big amount every month.....esp. when u're getting by on 1 income.

holy crap dude, be a little more ignorant!!!

Dude, I shop there too.

My basic point is that you have to be clear and concise when it comes to products at Walmart, because it's the biggest damn retail store on the planet and the way they got there was being clear and concise.

I don't see them doing anything with this release to change that. I think, instead of a sticker to differentiate between the regular blu-ray and the imax blu-ray, the cover art will be different. But, I also think that the specs and title will also accompany the coverart instead of just the slipcover just so people know what they're getting.

but how many releases have any kind of info released on it prior to the release date??? unless there's a review on that specific release on this or some other site, we have to wait until it comes out.

granted, their site should show the 2 different versions that will be avail., but other than that, not many stores do any kind of release of info prior to the release date.

I'm thinking the Walmart ad is going to be accurate. The only thing we don't technically know is what the back coverart looks like and and what specifically is on the second disc.

But, I think we can all guess what's on the second disc. I don't see Paramount producing an entirely new set of features different from the regular blu-ray second disc just for this imax version. It'll be the same.

Again, we just don't know if its a slipcover or not and what the back coverart looks like.

Me personally, I hoping for no slipcover. I hate them. And, I especially hate a release like with the regular blu-ray version and Iron Man where the damn slipcover has the title and the specs but the actual coverart is plain. Can't freaking stand it. I was glad that Paramount changed that for the first Transformers film on blu-ray....

Here's hoping the imax version doesn't go that route.

I am not one for stereotyping people, but if you want to make a post against the view they have of Walmart shoppers you may want to look into capitalization as well as the whole "u're" thing...

Just saying...

if it makes u feel better, my emails here @ work are the same exact way.

and there's just a little bit of a difference between lumping all shoppers @ one major chain into one basket vs. my grammar.....i guess i'm missing your point of your post.

as far as the release goes, i'm actually hoping for a silpcover that matches the 1st release of the 1st movie...i really like that one, but i do agree about the iron man silp cover, that one got on my nerves a bit.

Just because a reviewer didn't like it doesn't mean anything.

Previewed this last night, didn't have time to watch the whole thing. The PQ is excellent, better than the first Transformers. While this one has the same pushed contrast that the first one had, I didn't notice any crushing or blown out detail. At times the skin tones do appear sickly with odd green and purplish tinges, which result from Bay's style, most notably whenever John Turturro is on screen. Audio lives up to it's predecessor.

For CIH viewers: subtitles appear in the image, not the black bars.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but Amazon has dropped the price to $25 from $28.

I shop Walmart too but they ARE the reason studios started offering separate FULLSCREEN DVD versions of titles

Another thing was Holiday 2007 shopping season they promoted HD DVD over Blu-ray (because it was so artificially cheap). And they push those crappy VIZIO TVs.

of course there's always this:
http://www.peopleofwalmart.com

Pretty good for a laugh.

i don't have a problem w/a good laugh on that site, what i did have a problem with was the generalization that all people that shop there are like that.

he even said himself he shopped @ wal-mart, if he'd been more specific in his post, i probably wouldn't have had a problem w/it.

whatever, it's done and over with.

bring on tuesday!!!
