I'm not complaining, personally, but I'm not sure they'll let you keep that screen up.

Does anyone know if there's a way to remove the pause icon from the screen, using the PS3? I'd rather not have it on the image when taking screens of a movie with a 1.85:1 aspect ratio.

I am not sure if the pause/still logo can be made to disappear but please try frame skipping instead of pausing.

Everyone knows this is still the best theatrical Batman adaptation...

I always liked the campy nature of the Batman TV series. It was more a spoof of batman than anything. Bruce Wayne/Batman appeared to have some pretty funny psychological problems. Alfred was more a psychiatrist than a butler. I think I'll pick this up on BD, for old times sake.

When we were really little, my parents would often tape movies that were on TV and we'd watch those tapes over and over again. And one of them was BATMAN: THE MOVIE. So when I heard and saw that Fox was actually releasing it on Blu-Ray, part of me wanted to buy it for nostalgic reasons, while a part of me was saying "Do I want to spend 30 bucks on something that I'll probably watch only once that may really suck?" So I'm going to see if I can rent this.

Renting is probably the best option, if you are not already a longtime fan of the 60's Batman TV show. I really think it is great fun and an obvious influence on Tim Burton's Batman vision, especially in Batman Returns (mixed with his archetypical darker, quirky take obviously) and you can tell that Joel Schumacher really tried to bring the original campy version into the modern era with a not entirely successful result.

Much deserved praise is heaped upon the Nolan-verse Batman with its masterful direction and outstanding dramatic performances from the actors, but it's a shame that all comic book movies have to be taken 100% seriously now. I wonder a little at Raimi's slight touch of bathos in Spiderman 3 that nudged the border of self-parody that could've been much more humorously introspective and the lambasting of the half-hearted The Punisher which couldn't quite go the distance towards Garth Ennis' "Welcome Back Frank" very scathing storyline. Although I suppose camp and self-parody do not mesh well with $150 million dollar budgets, so we get what we get.

Anyway, since this is not a movie discussion thread, I'll put some pictures in the next post!

When I look at this screen, I can't help but think Robin just took a shot to the nuts.

Equipment: 42" Philips LCD / PS3 / Sony Cybershot Digital Cam

Movie: Starship Troopers

PQ Rating: 4.25/5 - Really good looking transfer. There's a few scenes that are a little off, but they're few and very far between.

The Starship Troopers caps look terrific buddy. In comparison to the Import BD from BVHE the colors and sharpness seem to stand out a tad better. Kudos to you and Sony for highlighting the video quality.

PQ Rating: 4.5/5 - Some scenes don't have as much pop because of stylized effects, but this film looks really good.
