We do. Fall.

I could be more specific, but then I'd have to kill you. Well, probably not, but the announcement's coming soon enough anyway.

I knew about the "fall." I was just wondering when. October? November?

Strange move, if that's the only release. Their 'Ultimate Collector's Edition' will probably be the same as the upcoming DVD package, with the post-cards, etc. (Like Harry Potter, Blade Runner, etc.)

The pictures I've seen of the new DVD set show three disks, which has me curious. (The extras-filled previous DVD had only two disks, and I can't imagine what could be added to justify a third)

In the end, it's a great movie, but I don't watch my (excellent) DVD that often, so haven't much interest in paying even $20 to upgrade to HDDVD or Blu-Ray (strangely, that's just about the only disk I haven't been able to buy during the firesales. (That and Adventures of Robin Hood which, also, I don't watch enough on the excellent DVD to consider paying full-price for an upgrade))

I want this movie, but I'm not interested in these "mega collections".
Hopefully they will release a regular version as well.

I don't want a mega collection either. I do want the movie. I was expecting a 25 or 30 dollar price tag

Defintely my opinion as well. I guess I'll be renting it in order for my wife to see it. Ah well... money saved.

Ok, wouldn't the movie be a mono track? Would that be included as a lossless mono track, or how would that work?

I haven't seen the movie in years and would be interested in at least renting it, if not owning it for the first time in my collection. I'm just curious how the audio will be handled. I hope they don't do some super-duper 7.1 deformation of the original audio! Part of the charm of these old movies is the ... "quaintness" of the technology.

I never got this on HD DVD, and was planning on picking it up on Blu-ray... but I'm not paying more than $20 for it, so I'll be passing until it goes down in price.

I sure hope they don't pull a similar stunt with "Forbidden Planet" when they decide to release it on Blu-ray.

When the price drops, I'll add it to my collection.

No other site has listed a price.

Great movie, I will pick it up first day, but may order from wb to at least get 25% off.
