you can talk about anything just don't mention the HEAT!
according to dvdtimes.com http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=68522 the Blu Ray will be released October 7th!!! Warner Home Video have announced the US Blu-ray Disc release of Body Heat on 7th October 2008 priced at $28.99 SRP. Marking the directing debut of Lawrence Kasdan (The Big Chill, The Accidental Tourist and Grand Canyon), Body Heat echoes the 1940s film noir genre in the tradition of Double Indemnity and The Postman Always Rings Twice, but with explicit sexuality that would never have been allowed then. Academy Award(R)-winning actor William Hurt stars as naive attorney Ned Racine, playing opposite Kathleen Turner in her film debut as married socialite Maddie Walker. Ned's lust for Maddie blinds him to the deadly consequences of seduction and deception and takes him on a runaway ride of passion, with a one-way ticket to trouble. John Barry provided the sultry score; Ted Danson and Mickey Rourke are memorable in supporting roles. Extras include: Lifted scenes Three featurettes: Body Heat: The Plan - Explores the script and the cast with new interviews from Lawrence Kasdan, Kathleen Turner, William Hurt and Ted Danson The Production - Explores the making of the film and production stories - with new interviews from Lawrence Kasdan, Kathleen Turner, William Hurt, Ted Danson, Richard H. Kline (director of photography), and Carol Littleton (editor) The Post-production Explores the editing, the music and the theatrical release - with new interviews from Lawrence Kasdan, Kathleen Turner, William Hurt, Ted Danson, Richard H. Kline (director of photography), Carol Littleton (editor) and John Barry (composer) 1981 interview footage with Kathleen Turner and William Hurt |

I for one am very pleased to see this coming to Blu. I can not think of a film with a better Fem Fetale role and I cant think of a better execution than Turners work here. I love the way the film was shot and it's look. I believe that KT was perhaps the hottest female lead (attitude & Looks) captured on film. Maybe even to this day.
Am I wrong? Discuss

There is already a thread on BODY HEAT this will prob be merged but WB will be including a DOLBY TRUE lossless audio track. It should bring out John Barry's score!
I'm sure the score was recorded in stereo but the film sound downed to mono. I would hope the blacks are good on the blu... sometimes the TV versions on HD aren't as good as the disc counterparts - just depends. |

Audio: English: Dolby TrueHD 5.1 and Dolby Digital 5.1 French and German: Dolby Digital 1.0 Spanish: Dolby Digital 2.0 Subtitles: English SDH, French, German, Spanish The video says 1.85:1, but it looks like it fills my tv screen like 1.78:1. Maybe I'm just missing something Scan of back cover! From my ancient scanner ![]() Edit: Oh yeah I forgot, it's got an icon if you stick it in a PS3. Am I the only one that loves when movies have that?
