Default Does The Speed Racer Digital Copy Work On iTunes?

I just bought Speed Racer on blu, which is suppose to come with a digital copy, and checking the little sticker attached to the front, it confirms that it'll work with mac and itunes, but upon inserting the disc into my imac (which meets all the requirements listed on the sticker), and it wouldn't work! So All I can say is: F*** You Warners!!!! (Better not pull this crap on TDK).

It iwll lok better on blu anyhow... I doubt they'll do a digital copy with Dark Knight they didn't on Begins ? but I don't use them ... Yeah a friend confirmed the sticker says it should work on MAC also ... too bad with that error... that could cost them as much trouble as not having HD audio on the film. :-)

I am not interested in the digital copy, but if it indicates compatibility with Mac then it should have it.

I do not use the digital copy either, but it is hard to say it is false advertising yet. It could just be a defective digital copy. I think we need to have more then 1 person having problems, before we can say it is false advertising

Default Is the Digital Copy for Speed Racer ipod compatible?

Um, someone correct me if I am wrong here, but it looks like WB screwed up again and gave a Digital copy that doesn't work on ipods. I installed it on my computer, it never gave an option for itunes and i cant import it. Why is WB sooooooooooo F*CKING STUPID?!?!?!?!?!

They did the same thing with the 'Dark City' digital copy. (It was released by New Line, but WB distributes it.) Arrrrgggghhhh......

I thought Speed Racer was a WB title distributed by WB. I swear to god, no HD audio and digital copies that don't work on itunes. What the hell is their problem!!!!!!

Hell, Paramount can put out a digital copy and it work with itunes, and I almost positive that Universal titles will also work on itunes, why can't WB? Hell, 10,00b.c. had an itunes copy.

I was very angry when WB announced that this movie wouldn't have hi-def audio, but I decided to buy it anyways. I got it in the mail today and the sticker on the slipcover claims that it will work with iTunes, but it doesn't. The claim code sheet inside the box says it isn't compatible with iTunes. WB should have to make it up with the people who bought into their false advertising. I have already sent an angry email to those incompetent LIARS at WB.

So its not even recognized by iTunes at all? Or can you just not sync it to an iPod?

That sucks, I said it was compatible because I believed Warner's claims on the packaging. My mistake.

Wow, this is right from digitalcopy.warerbros.com:
Quote:
*What is Digital Copy?
Digital Copy is a Windows Media™ compatible copy of a movie which can be quickly and legally transferred from a purchased DVD to a PC or PlaysForSure™ portable media device.

* How do I get started?
To use Digital Copy, you will need a PC running Windows XP or Windows Vista, Windows Media Player 10 or above, a DVD-ROM drive, and an Internet connection. No downloading is required but you’ll need to connect to the Internet the first time you run the disc to enter a special code to get your copy of the movie.
No iTunes compatibility whatsoever! What a contradiction!

To specifically answer the question, I looked on the Warner Support link that was circled in the photo, and got:

Quote:

To use Digital Copy, you will need a PC running Windows XP or Windows Vista,
...Yyyyep. Another "iPod killer" Sony wannabe.
ESPECIALLY in Warner's case, who wanted to kick their feet and throw their lil' temper tantrums at mean ol' Steve Jobs, and his poopyhead ol' iTunes Store, and fell sucker for one of Bill Gates's WMV grease-jobs, by way of Amazon Unbox.
And although a WMV file might play in an iPod with QT conversion, the fact that it needs a Windows .exe file to actually get at the movie file means, scratch off another Mac-incompatible studio.

(And this should be in the other Speed Racer DC thread, but that one spent all its time throwing "Warner hates us, because they can't get any BD-50's!" tantrums...
Oh well. We'll just hash out the answers on this one.)

The digital copy is a windows media file.
So it will NOT work with itunes.
There may be a way to convert the file to Quicktime but I'm not sure how to go about this.

Warner's screwed the pooch again.

Not the end of the world. Download the Digital Copy, then transfer the file to one that is Ipod compatable. Plenty of free/paid software....just google it.

Warner may be changing their ways, the proof being the introduction of the outside stickers suggesting Apple compatibility. Further proof: Risky Business (also WB) came with a digital copy that DOES work with Apple products. At least this is my hope, especially with Sex and the City coming next week, which I do want on my iPod.
