"BARAKA" Freezes And Skips At Chapter 19(tried 3 Copies) On The Bdp-s550. The Disc Plays Perfect On My Sony Bdp-s1.

Need Firware Update

I will say the 'eco-friendly' packaging sux but the PQ is amazing!!!!!

sre you hooked up via ethernet? check for updates? My 350 needed one right out of the box

My copy jumps in chapter 19 when the lady is wasing her hands in the water. I have a PS3 with the latest 2.50 firmware. It skips at 13:19 and jumps about 15 seconds ahead and sometimes up to 35 seconds. That area seems to be defective as rarely it plays through fine, but most of the times it skips.

Yeah, I was very let down by the packaging when I got it in the mail from Amazon this morning. I am not one of those people that complain about any and every package that is different than the norm because it may not fit in my shelf or because it looks different. It just feels cheap and I don't like having my discs slid in a cardboard backing.

But I have to wait to watch it because I just rearranged my living room and have to wait to get new cables.

Yea i was a little disappointed after seeing the packaging but then i went online after watching the movie to learn more about it and learned that the packaging is made out of 100% recyclable materials so it makes sense. The movie itself is amazing and knowing now why the case is cardboard made me even love the case more

bluemax, it is not the player. It is the disc. Several people have reported problems. I have the S550 and the S300 and both freeze at the 1 hr 13 min. mark (the woman standing in the water). I am not sure an update to the players will help this. I think it could be a bad pressing. I am returning my copy.

And the packaging is terrible. Haven't we got past the point of sliding discs in slots?

works great on the ps3. i agree with the other comments about packaging. it sucks. absolutely amazing picture .

My Sony 350 also skips with the Baraka disc. Returned it to Best Buy.

I had mine freeze, not at the same spot though. It was a packaging issue, mine was scuffed and had to be cleaned. Really stinks, being it was a brand new disc!
