Default X-Men Trilogy Blu-ray Disc release - 9 Disc Edition

Just an update for you lot;

FOX has just issued a full PRESS RELEASE on the upcoming (April 21st) release of the “X-Men Trilogy” on Blu-ray Disc. Things are very surprising here. The “X3: The Last Stand” is a re-release as you’ll see revealed below in the list of bonus materials. Each release (or film in the trilogy) will include a 3-Disc set (a total of 9 for the box set). Disc 1 of each contains the film, Disc 2 for each contains bonus materials (to be discussed further in a moment below) and Disc 3 for each contains a Digital Copy of the film(s).

FOX plans to unveil a first BD-Live effort with an EXCLUSIVE preview trailer to the upcoming “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” film as downloadable content. Each film will feature D-BOX motion code and on a separate note — pun intended — each will be available separately or in the box set (”X-Men Trilogy“) and are available for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon.com. Click on a title below for a PRE-ORDER link.

“X-Men“
“X-2: X-Men United“

I like these movies, but this is the very definition of "overkill."

That said, maybe I'll buy. The surround sound on all three films have been superb, and I can only imagine what it'll sound like on Blu-ray.

Oh boy, I neeed to start getting rid of my DVD's (inlcuding my 2 disc import of X3) as this is definitely worth the upgrade! It seems all features from the DVD editions were included!
Thanks for posting this info!

That's the one. The wait will have been worth it, but I cant' wait to see how much it costs. Knowing Fox it will be really cheap.

MSRP is actually only 79.99, which is extremely cheap for fox

X-Men: The Last Stand is NOT a re-release.
It's the full SE which was released on DVD in every region except the US.

This is looking to be a great release by Fox. I'll be adding this to my Blu-ray library for sure.

It's accurate. It's been up for pre-order on Amazon for about $55 or so.

Hahaha, geek-asm - I will have to sell off my DVDs and X3 on blu as well. I wonder if X3 will use the same audio this time (DTS-HD 6.1)?

It does look like it carries forward everything from the DVDs. Still checking.

Even better, it has the Fox "Mutant Watch" special on disc 2 of X-Men. The one played for real with Senator Kelly. Which was on the original DVD but not on the X-Men 1.5 release that came later. So booyah!

Considering the content has never been released in the US, and it's never been on Blu-ray in ANY territory, um yeah I'd say this is a Blu-ray re-release...

No. A re-release would just be re-releasing the previous disc.

Hence the term "Re-Release". This is a new release. New content. New release.
