So does the director's cut include more blue wang or just more bad acting?

If you have nothing to add, then why post?

I'm looking forward to this one. I had no expectations going into it and found it to be really enjoyable. I bet the blu-ray will be outstanding.

After Watchmen's somewhat tepid performance, I wonder if we will really see an extended cut released later this year. There will never be a sequel so the franchise really has no more opportunities for promotional tie-ins except to piggyback on Zach Snyder's future movies.

Good question. I was thinking that they would release the Director's Cut right away. 1) Because Zach said so. 2) Because the film did not do so hot, and they need to recoup their money. WB knows many people who went to see this film and will purchase it, are the type of people who want Director's Cuts and will hold out if they have to. So I think our future is looking bright for the initial release. But I am worried, I do not want to wait until Nov.

I'm sure it will. Watchmen has become somewhat of a cult classic. I personally loved the movie and know quite a few people who liked it as well. I think Warner Bros. will see how well the first release sells and go off that.

Film of the year for me (thus far) - Snyder did an amazing job bringing the graphic novel to life. I'll be all over any release(s) that Warner puts out...double-dip, triple-dip, whatever.

It managed to pull in $100M (though I don't think it made the film's negative cost) so we'll probably get the extended cut to help WB break even because there's still $50M in red ink to be made up for. It could have done much better given the marketing push the movie got, but I think the water cooler discussion started and the movie keeled over after that. It confused too many people and didn't have any star power in it to have pulled in the $300M Warner Brothers was hoping for. A good home video could help close the gap with an extended cut and Black Freighter worked in. That's just a guess though...

Isn't that a bit too early. I remember Ironman came out on March and the BD came out on Sept...

I was actually hoping for a Sept release..because I will out of US on July..meaning I will be missing out on the store exclusives

It is not too early. Ironman was a boxoffice smash, and Watchmen...well it did not fare as well.

July?!?! Why so long? I would've expected no later than June. Huh, oh well, it's just around the corner.

This was the exact same with 300. People shouldn't be surprised by this at all.

But the director's cut supposedly won't be out until November/December, and I won't be double-dipping. Reminds me of the Zodiac DVD situation.

I'll be there when the doors open. I will also double dip on this...if need be.

This date had already been leaked on the list of Warner titles for that sales promotion. Nice to get confirmation though.

I'll give a rent first then wait for the "Directors cut" in the near future. No double dipping for me; cannot afford it and its a waste of money.
