What do you mean "now"?
When was it acceptable to use it in a derogatory manner? In High School?

Very interesting and thanks for the tip. I guess I feel lucky to live in Australia then! The flim looks fantastic on my new TV.

Next step is a Receiver which supports uncompressed PCM.

Connery - You Only Live Twice & Diamonds Are Forever are my favorite Bonds so it has to be Connery.

Craig - Hoping #2 continues successfully with the "raw" Bond.

Dalton - A Short but well played run on his part.

Moore - Anything from the 70's has a certain kitsch value to me. I hated View to a Kill.

Brosnan - the movies themselves got out of hand imo. Double entendres and gadgets went too far. I liked Brosnan, just not the Bond Franchise of the 90's.

Lazenby - sorry George but one movie isn't enough and with Telly as Blofeld I just wasn't happy.

i don't mind saying "yeah right" during a flick, it's a movie, but when everyone in the room looks at each other like "did that really just happen" it takes away from what could be a good flick. but i am all for new things, this was the sentiment from alot of trekkies that didnt like the newest enterprise series because it was so far from the last 400 episodes, but imo it made me love the series all over again. i love the new bond, and was one of my early blu purchases. i hate remakes but i love reinvention.

Hmm.... I say

S. Connery (who's gonna argue that?)
Dalton
Moore
Lazenby
Craig (how..... how ..... how are people impressed by this guy?)
Brosnan (yeah.... I thought he was the worst)

As far as Bond My favorite would be Connery and my least favorite would be Brosnan. I agree with most as far as Craig doing a good job. Right now I would place Dalton above Craig for now. and Moore would be 4th for me.

I loved Casino Royale because there were very few gadgets in the movie, yet all of them served an important purpose.
But those silly gadget's is what made bond........well bond! IMO as soon as you go changing something that made a movie a classic ( and generally speaking) thats when things start to fall off. I thought casino royale was boring, I like all the bonds with pierce brosnan and back muck better.

This film has nothing to do with the Bond short story of the same name, which is fine by me. But after reading the description on Wikipedia, I'm hoping it is much more than just a revenge flick.

Yeah, completely agree. I was getting tired of the over the top, gotta out do the last movie direction things were going in. I was going to skip Casino Royale but, glad I didn't because it was probably the best bond movie in some time. Haven't read the books but, it is interesting that Quantom Of Solace is the first true sequel in the Bond movies as well.

Some ten years ago, I published a review of Tomorrow Never Dies entitled Bond Is Dead.
I felt the same way for most Brosnan outings except this one, which I liked mostly for starring Michelle Yeoh as an Emma Peelesque agent, and for the scene where Bond kills Kaufmann in cold blood. When I saw the jump at the start of Goldeneye (which was so 90's "extreme sports" dated already) my heart sank with him going down, and I'm not talking of the scene where he jumps towards the plane and land it. Though these movies paid tribute to "the legacy", they were dated before they ever came out, they were parody of 60's movies done in the 90's, whereas CR is a movie of the times. If QOS is as good as CR, it's gonna be better than Dark Knight. If it's better, then it'll be the best franchise movie of the year.

Brosnan was right for Bond at the time, I liked his Bond but my least favourites would be Tomorrow Never Dies and Die Another Day, although it has the best car action scene.

Goldeneye and The World is Not Enough were excellent Bond films

Daniel Craig is perfect for today's Bond though, I loved the grittiness of the fights but was less keen on some of the soppier stuff which seemed to drag out the film for no reason. He looks the part though and brings a credibility to the role that Brosnan didn't have.

Some of Connery's films are great, some aren't - I hate the way fights scenes are literally speeded up to make the action look better and I really don't like Diamonds are Forever - he's too old and looks stupid in a 70's ruffly dinner jacket.

My all time favourite Bond movie? Hmmm, I really couldn't choose.
