According to this review on HighDefDigest:

Alas, I do have one small nitpick. There appears to be some slight waving to the source -- for example, in the scene where Demi Moore's character first visits the military for an interview, you can see a fluctuation of brightness on her face. To be sure, it's hardly severe -- and likely not noticeable on smaller screens -- but it happens often enough throughout 'A Few Good Men' that I'm forced to knock down the Video rating a half-star. Still, it ultimately doesn't prevent me from giving this one a very big, hearty thumbs up overall -- this a truly wonderful video transfer.

I'm a bit puzzled about SPHE's claim on Aug30th about nearing 1M mark in HDM. I assume this only applies to BDs from Sony Pictures the studio, and free bundled disks like TN in US & CR in europe are not included?

Does this mean then that Warner has crossed 1M disks sales on BD? Based on the current placements (pre-Spidey), Warner has that big title 300 just sitting there at #1, and I'd be surprised if Warner is further from 1M than SPHE.

If this is true, wouldn't a joint PR by Warner and SPHE both claiming to have each sold more than 1M BDs be a nice cheap psychological boost?

This applies to pressed discs destined for retail.

Yes, of course. But according to this WSJ story, Sony invested 200 billion yens in Cell, and now they're selling it to Toshiba for 100 billion.
apples and oranges. Read the article again. The 200 B was also their share of R&D (probably a vast majority of it) and not just the production facility. THe Production is what is sold to Toshiba, Sony's share of royalties from each chip made be it for PS3, Toshiba TVs or medical devices or anything else that comes along will still be going to them.

That's correct, they are NOT included. The 1M is for Sony only, in the US/NA.

Sony also mentioned they were approaching 250K units in Europe. Since 500K give away Casino Royales were created for there, clearly the numbers can't include the give aways.

During the credits where the Marines are doing their riffle exercises. As I read the opening credits, it seems like the screen is shaking horizontally. I watched this title again last night, and that was the only time I noticed it.

I probably should have mentioned that I'm not in the US.

Me too. Unfortunately quite a lot of it and not only in one scene.

Did Dave Vaughn succeed in chasing all the insiders away from here too? I haven't seen many postings in here by insiders lately.

Both paidgeek and kjack have posted here since the David Vaughn incident, and I believe that Talk has also.

Just assume that these people are busy people...

Paid this question is for you, do you know if SPHE is working on the Desperado series (especially Once upon a time in Mexico)?

This is the busiest time of year in home video. They're working hard to get everything out in time for Christmas. It starts in June/July and it doesn't let up till mid-late October (and sometimes longer)

I figured as much and have seen sporadic posts here and there from the various insiders, save Penton Man. I guess I just wanted confirmation that they weren't all scared off.

Message to all insiders: Keep up the great work! I am only one of many who are really enjoying the fruit of all your labors.

P.S. - Penton Man, wherever you are, I hope you come back. I hate to see any insider leave as you all have contributed a lot to this board.

Default Quick start of Movies

Not sure if there is a way to get a message to the guys authoring the FOX Blu-Rays but I thought the way they did Harts War was excellent. I loved the way that the movie just started playing without having to go through menus or watch previews. Along with the use of the pop up menu to make any setup changes or jump to a scene it worked perfectly for me. I think all blu-ray movies should be authored this way unlike the POTC DMC which takes forever before you actually get to see the movie.

FWIW... I'm an insider of a different sort on another board. The whole point of posting is it's recreational conversation. When it becomes a hassle, you just leave. I left those boards for the most part because of the snarky fighting. I don't expect Penton-Man to be any different.

I’m just taking a sabbatical from posting on the online forums.

In retrospect, for me, it is turning out to be a pretty good idea, as there is alot going on behind the scenes that I can’t talk about anyway.

Doesn’t mean I don’t peek my head in here every once in a while to gauge the vibe.
I’ll try to time my return with revealing some exceedingly good bleeding-edge breaking Blu news to put a smile on everyone’s face sometime in the future.

Out.
