Hi Zivouhr, the vendor for insurgent is confirmed as final as to who will handle its post production conversion. the vendor to handle it will be Legend 3D.

Thanks for the info Bluecollect. Legend 3D can do some nice conversion work, even if not always the strongest 3D.

IMDB is saying Legend3D is to attempt this hybrid conversion, but we will not know who the final choice of vendor will be until release day.

Hi Zivouhr, what type of 3D will the Divergent sequel be using, native or 2D-3D conversion?

if conversion, who's handling the 3D version of the movie (like a Legend3D, StereoD, Digital Domain Stereo group etc)

Hi BluCollect. Sorry for the delay.
Yes, the Vizio 3D 32" HDTV is awesome IMO, with the ability to switch any blu ray 3D film to 2D and back at will. It plays 2D discs fine as well, though it doesn't have the feature to auto-convert. It does however, have the ability to see 3D in side by side, top down 3D, which is nice for some home made 3D films. Enjoy your Holiday.

Hello, I am going to follow your previous recommendation of a 32" 3D HDTV from vizio. do vizio 3D's have the ability to switch between 3D/2D or is it one or the other?

My other thought to start is with a Sharp Aquos with the ability to switch between both viewing options of 2D and 3D. i know those with that type of ability are high end, can the low end 3D TVs switch between both viewing options, or with these are they strictly one or the other?

you have experience in stereography and making it, if i were to try this for an acting troupe that i direct (most often my performers involve live people) would i need CGI incorporated in my production to make this work, than post convert the people that are my performers?

    Hi Blucollect,

I have experience in 3D stereography and making 3D, though with the actual retail buys, I'm not an expert, but would suggest if you need a low cost 3D HDTV, consider ordering on for a 32" or within that small size, where the prices are lower. Vizio 3DTV 32" was in the $400 range last time I checked. Thanks.

Hello again Zuvouhr, i know you are knowledgable about 3D playback equipment and the 3D area in general. i am looking to hook up Mr Peabody and Sherman 3D to a 3D HDTV later on (and due to the advent of the ultra 4k tv which uses 3D as a secondary feature) and due to the current TV's phasing out and becoming cheaper, where can i find a 3D TV within $400 or less of my 5 class series samsung in the back of my house?

it's ok, i understand not that many are programmed like Mr peabody and sherman.

Blu-Ray 2D /Blu-Ray 3D is a lot more complicated to program, the feature is not used that often because of complexities in the authoring process.

a 3D disc with 3D Film+2D/3D bonus materials that can fully operate without being flagged (exception of 3D feature) is something rare in and of itself. a fact i fully well know.

I should take advantage of a dreamworks/fox film offering this as they have never done that in their 20 year history as a studio.

All was fully accessible from the 3D disc that it had (my first for an animated title where it has occurred where no 2D presentation was authored in it), except the 3D feature film. normally i would pick a 3D where it's locked out/flagged and i have to have the equipment to play it.
