hello Zivouhr, since stereo 3D and 3D blu-rays are an area of knowledge for you i thought i would ask you what the best 3D tv to hook up my player to later on would be?

it is currently hooked up to a 2D TV right now, (samsung BD 3D FM 59). the players 3D type according to the manual is active (the battery powered glasses), it dictates at least an 11 1/2 foot viewing angle to make the most of the effects a 3D BD would generate.

does it matter if it is hooked up to either an active or passive display, since i have a cateract on one side of my eyes, and i generally perform well viewing 3D movies, would you prefer it being hooked up to a PFR (non battery powered display)?

does it matter for the player what TV it has, or am i required to follow what the company wants?

Hello, Zivouhr. I learned of a word i do not understand in the Blu-Ray collecting community.

what is a priority flag? what i am referring to is with audio, if a disc is optimized for one mix, but plays another one, why does it do that.

the example i am referring to is Brave 2D, it is optimized for a 7.1 channel Dolby TrueHD mix, it picks the 5.1 channel version. how do i manually control that particular disc to where its using the correct version of the track?

The other is Oz the Great and Powerful, it chooses Dolby Digital 2.0, and 7.1 is required to be manually selected. how do i get the 7.1 channel version to play with both?

Why do certain titles default to one sound mix over another?

Frozen has now officially reached $1 Billion in cash with 1 country to go (Japan) on March 15th.

let's hope the mouse recognizes this and chooses to do a 3D blu-ray release in physical disc form, this is the biggest film of the year, they had better not be stupid now that this has been reached by this film and it has joined the $1 Billion club.

it is closing in fast to a billion dollars, total has now reached $959.4 million dollars. domestic is at $379.7 million, foreign stands at $579.7 million.

we hope frozen gets a physical release in 3D as this has smashed lots of records and is the 4th highest earning film. it had better be in the plans to release it based on the numbers.

your welcome, here is the link if you want to keep tracking the progress:

now let me give you the actual numbers, $378.7 million domestically, $579.7 million dollars in its foreign markets, for a grand total of $958.4 million dollars. that is why its near a billion dollars as we speak. we hope to god the mouse releases an announcement out of its mouth.

now based on the numbers, the mouse better and i mean better support it in its plans. if not it will be the biggest mistake ever done by them on a CGI film made in and rendered to be viewed with both of your eyes in 3D space.

my rough version of a disc breakdown is the following in 3D physical form: Disc 1= the film only and get a horse in 3D nothing else. all else will be on the 2D disc

Disc 2= the film in 2D and get a horse in 2D and all Blu-Ray and DVD bonus features

Disc 3= the DVD feature film in standard definition and get a horse more than likely attached a 3rd time with all bonus features

DC+/BR Bonus Disc= download from one of many providers, or a disc containing only the bonus materials

it is near $1B dollars in earnings, they had better get their act together and release the film before we have many angry consumers not being able to get it in 3D mode. the company did recognize in my call i own a Blu-Ray 3D player and one of the best ones at that the Samsung BD 3D FM 59. would you like to point me to an affordable display my player can use?

but again, 4th highest grossing film of all time, it had BETTER BE in the home video release plans or i will be very angry with the mouse. will you be very angry with the mouse?

hello, i am going to say on the Frozen 3D topic that you are involved in, this is the biggest of their films right now setting and smashing many many records. i have contacted the studio myself on the behalf of it. they knew nothing, they invited me to both disney movie rewards and participation in the exchange program for an unrelated title.

i think this gets a BD 3D release, i bet they are waiting for exhibition to end, we're not going the OZ route, or Free Birds. i think disney knows due to the money it is amassing for a reason it is time to release it

    Hi Orlando Eastwood,

How is filmmaking going? Fun as always I hope.

Converting video to 3D? I actually only do "filmed 3D" in computer animation programs, setting up the stereo 3D Camera Rig and prepping each shot set up for the strongest 3D possible for whatever I'm working on. Rendering out double is very time consuming, but the effect is worth it.

What are your latest 3D conversions Orlando? Did you get the 3DTV you were considering? Thanks!
