as for CGI alone, its just rendering it out again with a 2nd virtual camera thereby creating the stereoscopic presentation.

for each type of 3D , should i expect for native 3D to have both live action and parallel convergence, or one or the other?

for direct conversion, i never figured that was the actual process. so am i viewing the archival data, 3D VFX, etc?

for hybrid conversion 3D, what does and does not come out of the screen? since some elements are filmed 3D CG rendered with a 2nd virtual camera, with live action 2D-3D humans that were done in 2D originally, how does one seperate what is what?

your welcome, it does. the next thing is what would you recommend for a 3D HDTV for my Samsung BD 3D FM 59 to use to play back the 3D discs in my collection, and those i may add that can generate the best effect?

Hello again, i saw a stereoscopic 3D movie today and one of the biggest ones of the year, guardians of the galaxy.

I saw it with a friend, and we both thought going in that the project would be shot in S3D and be native while doing it.

him and i learned during the credits, it was converted by Stereo D and only 2 characters and the various CGI elements were re-rendered out to be native 3D.

how can i tell the difference between something that was converted after production has finished, and something that is actually shot to use 3D?

would you suggest introducing my friend to something that is actually created to use stereoscopic 3D to be viewed in 3D as opposed to conversion?

hello Zivouhr, since stereo 3D and 3D blu-rays are an area of knowledge for you i thought i would ask you what the best 3D tv to hook up my player to later on would be?

it is currently hooked up to a 2D TV right now, (samsung BD 3D FM 59). the players 3D type according to the manual is active (the battery powered glasses), it dictates at least an 11 1/2 foot viewing angle to make the most of the effects a 3D BD would generate.

does it matter if it is hooked up to either an active or passive display, since i have a cateract on one side of my eyes, and i generally perform well viewing 3D movies, would you prefer it being hooked up to a PFR (non battery powered display)?

does it matter for the player what TV it has, or am i required to follow what the company wants?

Hello, Zivouhr. I learned of a word i do not understand in the Blu-Ray collecting community.

what is a priority flag? what i am referring to is with audio, if a disc is optimized for one mix, but plays another one, why does it do that.

the example i am referring to is Brave 2D, it is optimized for a 7.1 channel Dolby TrueHD mix, it picks the 5.1 channel version. how do i manually control that particular disc to where its using the correct version of the track?

The other is Oz the Great and Powerful, it chooses Dolby Digital 2.0, and 7.1 is required to be manually selected. how do i get the 7.1 channel version to play with both?

Why do certain titles default to one sound mix over another?

Frozen has now officially reached $1 Billion in cash with 1 country to go (Japan) on March 15th.

let's hope the mouse recognizes this and chooses to do a 3D blu-ray release in physical disc form, this is the biggest film of the year, they had better not be stupid now that this has been reached by this film and it has joined the $1 Billion club.

it is closing in fast to a billion dollars, total has now reached $959.4 million dollars. domestic is at $379.7 million, foreign stands at $579.7 million.

we hope frozen gets a physical release in 3D as this has smashed lots of records and is the 4th highest earning film. it had better be in the plans to release it based on the numbers.

your welcome, here is the link if you want to keep tracking the progress:
