I will, do you think this will be the film that breaks the current standing policy of theirs that states, if the Disney Digital 3D presentation is a non marvel release, purchase must occur within the last 5 years, or through international import?

You're right, rendered in the computer for each eye with a virtual 3D camera rig.
The castle is in the background and the fireworks pop a little bit with the atmosphere, with the foreground scenery a little bit closer, but not much in terms of pop out for it, or the Luxo Lamp Pixar logo either. But both look good in 3D. Medium 3D I'll say depending on the prior 3D Disney films I've seen.
    Enjoy the movie and 3D!

Hi Zivouhr, will be viewing my first Disney Digital 3D movie in 2 weeks time, ever. (Inside Out), i know the film is natively re-rendered for being CGI (which is in stereo to begin with).

When the company logo the disney castle, and pixar's (luxo jr) are in 3D, do they come out at the audience or do only the words come at the viewers face?

Specifically with the castle, does the whole thing come out at me, text only, (are the fireworks in stereo where they would come out at me, or converted in post production).

Hi Zivouhr, was space pirate captain harlock re-rendered natively in 3D, or 2D-3D converted?

did marza animation planet (who did the 3D CG animation) have enough resources present to re-render, or did they have to convert off the data in post

    Todd Tomorrow,

Cool! Thanks for the details! I'll keep an eye out for the tree sized critters. The Spinosaurus was nicely animated, great job!

    Hi Zivouhr,

To answer your question, my favourite dinosaurs to animate were the little squirrel sized tree critters (I would have to check their name) and my least favourite was the Spinosaurus. Nobody could figure out how it walks and I had to redo it over and over.

    All the best,

it means i have to go back and collect everything that the marvel/lucasfilm buyout caused the studio to cut back upon. at least big hero 6 3D is region free in australia

your welcome, there was not that much planning for insurgent 3D, one of the bad pieces of Legend 3Ds work, normally they shoot digital with time for planning, the conversion was delivered to the movie at the last second. its a franchise that wasn't in 3D to begin with.

if it gets strong sales, lionsgate brings on home video, where we hope more effort is put into the mastering process, where legends work is improved upon and the conversion gets made decently for the format.

the question was what do i think about disney doing what its doing, for one i am not pleased. it means i have to go back to everything that was done prior to the strike and june 2013 if i want something for my equipment that's not marvel. for another it means its a lot harder to come by and has to be imported.

Hello again, made a good decision about Insurgent 3D, apparently its vendor did not put all that much effort into converting it to 3D, i made a wise decision to skip it theatrically, if i go back later, i do it with the full understanding its to be done at my own risk in both RealD and Imax formats.

the most i feel its going to serve for me is 3D TV fodder, and to throw the thing at my 3D TV as a showoff title, depending on if lionsgate wants it on BD 3D, depending if this one follows disney's lead in taking 3D away from the consumers.

is it typical for lionsgate to follow disney's lead now, and will it be taken from me if i don't see it theatrically?

Hi Zivouhr, the vendor for insurgent is confirmed as final as to who will handle its post production conversion. the vendor to handle it will be Legend 3D.
