Hi, my all-time favorite is a movie called "Chushingura" from 1962. It's an adaptation of the famous 47 ronin story, and stars Mifune among others. It's directed by Hiroshi Inagaki, who also did several other great samurai films I recommend like the Samurai trilogy, Samurai Banners, Incident at Blood Pass (this one's a little different, not much action, but stars both Mifune, and the Katsu Shintaro, the actor that played Zatoichi).

Others I've seen that I really enjoyed are:

    Sword of Doom
    Harakiri
    The Shogun's Samurai
    Samurai Fiction
    Twilight Samurai
    The Hidden Blade
    Samurai Assassin

I assume you've looked into Kurosawa's work, but if not, Yojimbo/Sanjuro, Seven Samurai, Kagemusha, and Ran are all great. Hope this helps!
