My dad has been on a quest to renovate the house for the past year and he's really devoted himself to it. So yeah, I'd say HGTV is a huge influence on my parents as well. I don't get the appeal.

I think it's random. He said he'd never seen a Korean TV show before. Although after about 10 minutes or so he decided to stop watching it "for now" and flipped over to HGTV, a channel both of my parents LOVE.

I forgot to mention that I rewatched Spirited Away recently (hadn't seen it since high school) and it is definitely my favorite of the 3 Studio Ghibli films I've seen. I'd probably pick it up on Blu-ray if Disney ever gives us a high quality release without dubtitles. I noticed on Letterboxd that it's your favorite film so you definitely picked a good one.

I looked up Song Hye-kyo's filmography and the only thing I've seen her in is The Grandmaster. Her role was pretty small, unfortunately.

I didn't mean to have intimated that I didn't like K-pop; rather, I haven't listened to much of it. I'm not sure how I feel about the factory-like churning out of boy and girl groups but I guess as long as I enjoy the music (my latest avatar/profile picture is one half of the Trouble Maker duo... I love that song) and don't think about that manufactured quality, I'll be okay.

Well, I guess my first question is what K-pop would you recommend? Do you have a list of your favorite Korean films? What about that country's entertainment appeals to you?

They are all so beautiful! Is Jang Nara your favorite or do you have your avatars on rotation? (I can't remember who was in your previous avatar.)

I sadly don't have much K-Pop in my library. The only all-girls group in there is a few songs by the Brown Eyed Girls. Are all of those ladies in your profile picture actresses or are they singers as well?

Who are the girls in your profile picture and who's the one in your avatar?

I ran out of thumbs up for today, which is why I can't "thank" your post about the Animated Feature Oscar. I did thank you in words, though.

LOL why did you buy them if you are just going to sell them?

I bought the Korean editions of As Tears Go By, Days of Being Wild and the international cut of The Grandmaster (I'm a huge Wong Kar-wai fan). I watched and greatly enjoyed The Grandmaster but I still haven't opened the first two films. I might just sell them instead and wait for US releases.
