Guys in other news, I finally built my own acoustic treatments:

XPA-2 or 3..........yeah, that is a difficult call. Benefits of the XPA-3 is that you can drive your fronts and center speakers with one single unit.

If you aren't in a hurry, keep looking for a second hand XPA-5. Usually, they are available at the classified sections at multiple forums. Just make sure you have at least 3 years of warranty left on that unit and double check with Emotiva to verify they have that unit under the seller's name (Emotiva tracks warranty based on the owner's name).

    Good luck man!

I'm looking to buy new I haven't made my mind up between the XPA-2 or 3! I will eventually add more amps to my setup, but for now one will do! I know I'm sad for only buying one!

I plan on adding a emotiva amp this month sometime. Along with some quality interconnects and speaker cables.

    Thanks Chisox!

I went to my local Fry's Electronics as they have Polk and Klipsch speakers at the demo room. I went also at a couple of Best Buy (Magnolia) to audition Martin Logan and B&W speakers.

So, I decided to pull the trigger on the Polk's as a really good speaker with a good balance between performance, price and looks.

One more thing, when I was looking for new speakers the main goal was to use them 100% for movies. But, after adding them to my system, I dramatically changed to probably 70% music and 30% movies. People tend to complain the RTi A's are a bit bright, but IMO it depends on the quality of the material reproduced. Garbage in...garbage out!

    cr, great set-up!

Just curious to see if you auditioned any other speakers besides the RTi A9's? Never thought about Polk speakers, but after seeing your set up, I may have changed my mind. The speakers look beautiful and if they sound as good as they look...I may be sold on Polk.
