Reading through Heavy Metal magazine early catalogue, I came upon Approaching Centauri, the story is by Druillet and art by Moebius. It is about a space navigator that somehow opens a portal to hell, when a reactor malfunctions in hyperspace. This story line is almost identical to Event Horizon, which has never acknowledged it being an inspiration for the film. It's been bothering me.
