Hello, is Maleficent to actually see a BD 3D release stateside due to the age of the original film and its status as a catalog title? and are we going to be given the same treatment as frozen where i have to combine the Domestic+Zavvi to even have it?

and im also wandering if the thing will be crafted properly as a combo pack in 3D with the included standard DVD, they remove the DVD, they go back to a practice with the DC+ voucher where they constrain these to the 3D combo pack, etc. and i am wandering as well when the mouse started taking away the DVDs off the packs in either mode?

Hi clay, tangled refused any playback at all. should i buy this over in disney blu-ray 3D as well as the previous title we discussed?

hope you got my PM about that.

Im also guessing due to the 3D type in use with this title where its both native and converted 3D, my player was supposed to process this one for two eyes as opposed to a monoeye version.

The player could not handle hybrid 3D (2D-3D by what used to be InThree entertainment, Native 3D by Sony Pictures Imageworks), and as such it was too much for a BD 3D player to handle in 2D.

So the DVD has material after viewing the film as well as the 2D disc? Disc 1 (the Blu-Ray 3D) has absolutely nothing at all and will be the movie only and the main setup menu if i am correct there as well.

Disc 4 is the DisneyFile Digital Copy and that's also the film only.

So gold border, 3D Blu Combo Pack, will cover me and offer me a corrected 2D image as well.

i'll go with what you have suggested.

Now back to what you and i were going back and forth on, buying the gold holographic slipcover for alice in wonderland (the 3D combo) would present minimal room for error if im correct. as that would give me the film in 3D thats it, nothing else at all. the 2D disc would give me a corrected movie and all the bonus materials. the DVD is a Standard definition DVD with all remaining supplements or it could be movie only, i do not know, do you know?

If i purchase the 2D combos with the blue borders, am i at a higher risk of repeating the problems that occurred when we had the discussion about this title?

I have another question for you Clay, Why do certain Disney Blu-Ray 2D and 3D discs have priority flags on them audio wise to where they will default to lower audio mixes?

I own Brave (to date my only Blu-Ray from them as a combo pack) which is mixed for Dolby TrueHD 7.1, it defaults to the 5.1 version, or could pick 2.0 on the BD as well as on the DVD which has that by default, where the Dolby Digital 5.1 has to be manually selected.

Oz the Great and Powerful (the film that introduced DC+) has the same track as well, but picks Dolby Digital 2.0 by default in the 2D and requires manual control over that configuration as well, why is that? in the 3D is the 7.1 channel mix it has the sole choice?

Both of them require manual control over those mixes, whereas others will play them like that like with Frozen. does Frozen default or is that the only choice for the disc?

i guess my overall question is what is an audio priority flag? its a topic i do not know much about, tell me more.

Clay, this did $1.9 Billion dollars in the theater. i do respect your opinion about Frozen, Tangled you felt did better and was more enjoyable to watch.

How did you watch the film you watched? (they recommend the 3D as a lot of reviews have said this did really well in theaters). the 2D did just as well in theaters showing it.

Frozen seemed to use a similar visual style to Tangled, (only one 2D animator was involved with Frozen to begin with, Tangled had more traditional animators to my knowledge working with the CGI animators). only get a horse required both together, as the main feature had 390 CGI people only mark henn (the shows 2D animator) was required.

remember this is the same fiasco with OZ being repeated with the billion dollar event of the year. that film introduced Digital Copy + (OZ), and is now introducing Vudu 3D for itself (Frozen) in addition to Digital Copy+ for the 2D side of things. yea, im going to bring in the Zavvi if you are saying the thing is region free and is capable of playing back in my unit in either viewing mode.

So you think we are on an indefinite delay until the fall possibly? and i hope this is not the studio choosing not to do it like with free birds even though that was bought into the theaters in 3D. this made over a billion dollars in cash, won 2 oscars, the 3D mode won an award for best stereography in animation, and was nominated for many others but did not win them.

Disney i hope your films performance is going to lead you to change your mind about a physical release in my country in 3D.

that's good, what is the pricing on the Zavvi Steelbook for this title? and as far as you have heard its region free. so my player the Samsung BD 3D FM 59 should be able to play both viewing modes?

your recommended display is from LG for 3D viewing in the home as you said previously. what display can do it from them for less, or can pretty much everyone do it for less now the industry has died and the next generation of TV's has started (Digital 4k,where 3D is secondary)?

Hey Clay, 1 week to go on the Billion Dollar earning blockbuster frozen until we hit DVD/Blu-Ray/AWOL 3D release.

The Zavvi Steelbook, is this to be region free or the other disc?

I just don't get why the mouse is choosing to be this cold hearted about a physical disc in my country.
