Also, about It Comes At Night: It's a real solid horror thriller but it's definitely pretty different than the marketing makes it out to be. Imagine a Walking Dead episode but sans the zombies and dumb characters with atmosphere similar to The Witch and you'd have a good feel for what you're getting into.

Yes, it is the anime film and it's a gorgeous doozy of a movie. It's currently the highest grossing anime film of all time and earned boat loads of critical attention when it came out last year and this year (didn't get a proper release in the US until April). There are some minor flaws (it's one of those movies that feels like it ends five times during the climax) but it's heartfelt, unpredictable and beautiful as hell. Just avoid anything else about it beyond the base synopsis.

Yeah, Z is on Prime and it's absolutely worth the viewing. I've always kind of liked Charlie Hunnam but this movie proves that anyone who thinks he can't act is full of s**t.

For wot I'd recommend, I'd go with the following:

    Your Name.
    The Lost City of Z.
    Colossal.
    Raw.
    Free Fire.
Valerian and The City of A Thousand Planets.
    It Comes At Night.

Some of these are highly divisive (mainly the last two) but they all have something to recommend. Out of these, the ones I liked the most were Your Name and Lost City of Z, with the former being my favorite film of the year so far.

Nah, just me expression my affection for others. Usually, when I insult people I frequently talk to, it's a good thing. Plus I was drunk earlier when I said that and I'm a damn lightweight (still kind of tipsy, might I be honest).

But still, would you care for some recommendations to add to your 2017 list? I've been going through them lately and have collected some decent ones.

Oh, it gets better. The movie pulls a reverse Get Out as a f**kin' plot twist and it's just as tone deaf as you'd expect it to be.

Your dislike of the new Ghost In The Shell movie gives me life.

Honestly, I had no idea what to expect going into it when I saw it. Reviews were so scatterbrained as to what the film was, so I kind of said "Well, let's just see what Ridley Scott has up his sleeve" and from the first frame, I was definitely hooked in. It lacks the grandeur and spectacle that Prometheus had, but the atmosphere, ick factor, score, effects and Michael Fassbender's role(s) more than help pick up the slack. Also, mum and I took some photos of ourselves outside of the screening with my little Xeno plush and that was fun!

Bonus: Funny little comic that's Covenant in a nutshell.

This lovely little opinion piece summeraizes why I prefer it so perfectly: http://www.talkfilmsociety.com/artic...lack-and-white

Excellent to hear! What did you like about more on the second go around than the first? Mum and I are definitely eager to see it again, though it'll be on home video.
