Yeah, I got a slight Revenant vibe from the trailer though from what I've heard, Silence is nowhere near as heart stopping or brutal as that film was. I also heard some comparisons to more older filmmakers like Kurosawa or Dreyer in terms of how stripped down the film is when it comes to theatrics and pacing, which seems to be something I've been gravitating towards lately when it comes some movies.

I'm currently in Florida right now (Vero Beach, to be precise) and the only theater I can find it playing in is all the way in Jensen, which is almost an hour away. But the two theaters that are close by (The Majestic 11 and an AMC) might get it. The former had a listing for it on their site before it got taken down for next week while the AMC basically plays everything that comes out, so fingers crossed!

How would you compare this to other Scorsese movies? Is it in the vein of The Last Temptation of Christ or something completely different?

Fingers crossed that Silence plays in my neck of the woods next week. Do you think there's a decent chance it might expand just a little bit despite not doing so well at the box office?

True. Plus I do have a degree of bragging rights in saying that I got to see it in the theater while everyone else was seeing those.

Speaking of Oscars, have you been to the theater lately? I might be seeing La La Land, Patriots Day and Silence next week (with the first two hopefully being done in the same day).

And to think that movie and Suicide Squad made way more money than Kubo did.

Lol, you watched Sausage Party. How the hell did you wind up doing that?

Dammit, knew somehow that happened. Oh well.

Oh, it's a enjoyable video. I'm not the biggest fan of what the critic usually says about things (YMS is quite picky and can go turn into Captain Nitpicker fairly frequently, even over things that most people don't care about) but he can be pretty insightful and he certainly knows more about movies than I ever will.

Don't worry; It's a wonderful review that both tears apart the film and its rabid fanbase. You'll get a good laugh out of it, trust me.

Not yet, but I'll get around to it. From what I've seen of it, it looks like a massive cringe fest that was rushed straight out the door. I honestly feel bad for David Ayer, seeing how he had to crank out a script in six weeks and then had a fight in the editing room regarding what direction this mess could go in.

BTW, do you have that Fury Road code?

Let me know how some of those are. I really wanted to see Moonlight but couldn't while Manchester by The Sea has been getting great word of mouth but I just can't muster the enthusiasm in seeing it like some other movies this year.
