    It is weird, I thought it was as well when I noticed that. At least it seems to only happen a few times, and for very short shots. Great series though, I had never seen it before, and it is hilarious. Glad I picked it up.

    Hello Dre180,

    I do not believe your copy of Modern Family to be defective or anything. I did actually notice this as well regarding a few very short scenes being exceptionally grainy. I assumed it was due to either improper lighting on set, or some other flaw that had to do with the production. I believe it exists on the master though, and that every copy of the BD exhibits the same noticeable grain during those few short scenes. Hope that helps.
