Brighton Co. was a farming area and had maybe 10,000 residents within the city limits and has grown to about 36,000 now. The city itself seems to only be growing new houses and Taxes. There are some larger farms left that provide the Denver Metro area with some great fresh produce during the growing season.

Initially, had lived in one of the outer boroughs of NYC (Queens) but moved out to LI (Nassau Co.) to be closer to my older brother & sister and their families. It's nice where I am now, but I miss the convenience of walking to the stores or take NYC mass transit anywhere I want. At least I have the LIRR station within walking distance if I want to go into Manhattan.

It must be nice living where you are in Denver.

He has good days and bad ones of course and I'll be seeing him this morning, it's about a 60 mile round trip.
I live about 20 miles north of Denver, been here about 35 years, but lived close to Denver all my life. I see in you profile your in Long Island ???
Catch you later on the threads, time to go visit.

    We almost mirror each other.
After 30 plus years the company I worked for closed it's doors, so 2 other former employees and myself started a company building the same machines that our old company did. Sadly personal matters also happened 1 1/2 after our business started and I sold my share to them and retired. After being in a pit for almost 2 years I started building up my home A/V system but now with my only brother being very sick and in a nursing home I handle his personal and financial matters and visit him every other day.
About the only thing I collect now is Dust.

Whoa! Your only 4 years older than I! How do you like that!

In a perfect world, I would still be working, but it isn't. I was laid off in March of 2011
after 37 1/2 years, but it was probably the best thing that could have happened to me due to personal matters that were happening around me at the time.

I have the same likes like you do. Do much collecting? Myself, I am trying to cut
down on my buying, especially of movies.

I have that 3 box set also.
I always have been around a lot of music and i grew up in the 50's. I'm an old guy I guess (67 years young) and I have been retired for almost 7 years so I listen to tons of music ( late 40's to 90's ) and watch movies quite a bit.

    Thanks for the kind words!!

I attribute my love of doo-wop from listening to my older brother's 45's & listening to AM radio back in the day. Buying & listening to the 3 doo wop CD compilation box sets that were put out by Rhino Records in the '90s cements my love for the genre, and as
you sense it, it goes beyond that.

How about yourself? Your pretty knowledgeable in a wide range of genres!

Thanks for the friendship acceptance, I appreciate your knowledge and genre selection in the song game especially your choices of Doo-wop and the very early rock music.
