Oops! I didn't notice you had a iPad 2. I hope that you find a solution to the barcode issue. I'm sure the good folks at Blu-ray.com arte probably working on improvements and fixes right now.

Regarding the blu-ray iPhone app, With my IPhone , I click the camera button at the bottom once I am in the scan blu-ray mode and try to get the barcode as large as I can then I wait until it gets a good focus and a green rectangle will show up around the barcode before it is snapped/captured by the reader just like a photo. Sometimes all it needs is a partial scan to scan the correct barcode. Sometimes you'll just have to repeat the procedure. Then you can proceed further, pick the plus/minus button ,whether you have watched it or not, and then it is in your collection on your iPhone.
