Yeah, I still haven't forgiven Edward Norton for that period of his life when he was a neo-Nazi skinhead--he really messed up Edward Furlong's life...

Hey does anyone know how fast movies like these sell out? I want to order about 6 or 7 tickets for the midnight showing at the imax but im waiting for a few people to pay me for there tickets and for my paycheck to go in. Think I would be safe if I order them on Thurs?

*EDIT* Sorry for double post.

When I bought tickets for Spider-man 3 in IMAX, I checked back 3 days later and they were sold out. And that was when they first started selling tickets.

AGREE! I liked that in Hulk and Fight Club they were able to cover up that tatoo so well.

You do know alot of people did like Spiderman 3 right? And just because people will see it again, doesnt mean people will go and see it the next day. 100M isnt just some easy task. Its not like every summer blockbuster hits it. Hulk is a top tier blockbuster yet it made 58M. What gives you clear evidence it will surpass not only 100M but 151M? The next movie to beat Spiderman will be Avengers.

The point is, Batman is so different in a kind of bad way of every superhero. He has alot of backers, but more people against it.

Again, 87M
whatever man, just giving my opinion. i dont understand these threads cus our guess means nothing. we'll find out when we find out.

It's obviously an effects picture (I'd hate to run into that woman!).

Quick question , how did a thread I started , get changed to be listed as someone else's thread? This is not me complaining about it, just curious on how that happened , and does anyone think they will reveal Joker's backstory in the movie, or not?

Two threads were merged. You kept the title probably because your thread had more posts, but since the other started chronologically first, the first actual post bumped yours down a few.

The movie has potential to beat out Spiderman 3. However, if it does, Heath Ledger's passing will be a very minuscule part of it.

1. Demographics- Not really a kid friendly movie as most of the 100M movies are, and also not very female friendly

2. Other blockbusters. Although they wont even make a dent compared to TDK, but they will cause it to not get over the milestone. Hancock in 3rd week. Journey to the Center of the Earth (family movie) 2nd week. Hellboy 2. Hulk (5th week). Those movies will still be making money

3. Its in July. Vacationers will not be seeing this movie on vacation. July 15th to the 25th is a HUGE 10 days that people go away. Not to mention the only movie to ever hit 100M opening weekend in July is Pirates 2 which is a family movie

4. There is no evidence of it breaking such since Batman Begins didnt even break 50M

Out of the 10 movies that hit 100M opening weekend Indiana Jones and XMen 3 are the only ones that werent really the best movie for everyone to go to, but Xmen 2 was HUGE for comic book fans, so it had that anticipation. And Indiana Jones has 20 years of hype

Guess. 87M opening weekend
TDK's hype is just as big among comic book fans as X2's. In fact, I think it's bigger. X2's opening adjusts to $96 million. Batman Begins was received better by fanboys than X-Men 1 AND X2. It is, if you look strictly at the fanboy demographic, one of the most well-received films ever. Stronger than Spidey 2 even.

Batman Begins also opened on a WEDNESDAY, so that's a cheap shot on your part about it not reaching $50 million. It had made $24+ million on Wednesday and Thursday before the weekend even began. It likely would have made $60-65 million if it opened on a Friday. The marketing was also very subdued for it due to a fear of backlash from Batman & Robin, whereas TDK has had some of the best marketing ever, and easily the strongest marketing for a 2008 movie. I think it will open around $100-115 million, but it has no shot in hell at Spidey 3.

Yeah, I remember going to the midnight showing for Batman Begins on Wednesday and then going to the IMAX showing the next day. There was nobody there because it was a Thursday.

This movie will rake in a sh*t load, mark it down. If any movie can break Spidey's record it will be this. The hype is through the roof and I firmly believe it will deliver in spades on that hype.

I think it will be. I mean, based on the first one....it will be. With all the hype and Joker and Two-Face, definitely!
