Seriously? You are talking about Superman and 'Spide-man' on a Batman thread?

Also, show evidence of your claim before you post of it trying to 'burst some guy's bubble' (I guess thats just how you float as I personally don't want anything to do with another guy's bubble, especially bursting it).

Sorry to burst everyones bubble, but rumors are (same answer from 2 different theaters) that TDK is opening on a Wednesday.

For those who dont know what that means, it basically means no chance at all for 100M

Dark Knight has been scheduled for the 18th for almost, or maybe even over, a year now. I don't see them bumping it with such short notice.

Umm, Hancock was just bumped 2 weeks ago to Thursday at 7. Iron Man was bumped a week before its release to 7 pm Thursday. The same thing happened when Batman Begins came out. Movies are bumped up all the time whether it be a few hours, or a day or 2.

Again Batman Begins was supposed to be released on Friday, yet it was released Wednesday. Dont shoot the messenger. But 2 different movie theaters from 2 different towns said WB is planning on an early release either Wednesday or Thursday at midnight (Wednesday night) and all day Thurs.

Not that it would make 100M anyway.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen. But usually it happens before there's less than a month to release.

Its smarter for them if they dont care about records, and these studios dont care about weekend records when opening 2 days early will get them more money in the long run. This is why I dont get my tickets too early. These studios switch this shit up too much. Even if I thought or wanted this movie to break 100M I want it to come out on the Wed because I leave for Vegas Friday afternoon and the 3.5 hour flight would put a toll on me.

They did it with Harry Potter last summer. They did it with Batman Begins and Superman Returns as well. Never be surprised by Warner Brothers. They move their release dates like this at the last second all the time.

There is a difference this time around though. TDK doesn't have any big movies on its ass like Superman Returns (Dead Man's Chest came out a week later). Harry Potter was moved up because Transformers (due for release the week before Potter) was also moved up.

Not as big as Pirates or Superman but Hellboy is the week before along with Journey to the center of the earth. Oh and Xfiles 2 the next week

First off You need to read back a little further in the posts so you dont look like a fool. It was stated in another post that spider-man had sold the most comics ever and I stated that it was superman. Second "burst your bubble" is a figure of speach it was just lost on you. Third my evidence
Superman-1938
Spider-man-1960
Which do you think has sold more the "Death Of Superman " was the largest selling comic of all.

Death of Superman was DC's best selling comic ever. X-men #1 (1991) sold 8 million copies and is the best selling comic of all time. While Superman is probably the best selling comic series of all time, it's had many years of struggling, and in fact barely broke even many years. If you go by modern sales, he is not the most popular. He has probably not been the most popular for a very long time.

I would guess Batman has done much better in the last oh, 28 years or so. The graphic novels of the 80's that were written for Batman are some of the best comics in history and some of the most popular I would think. I don't have any numbers on it though. Dark Knight Returns, Killing Joke, Long Halloween, Dark Victory, Year One, Hush, Arkham Asylum, etc.

I know Batman is up there. I haven't really paid attention in the 2000's, but in the 90's X-men titles were always at the top of the top 10 list. It was usually 8 Marvel titles to 2 DC. The two DC titles were both Batman titles. Seems as though Batman and X-men have been the most popular (at that time).

I would have to say that in pop culture today Spider-man would be the most popular followed probably by Batman.

Yeah, Superman is very much an obsolete superhero as far as I'm concerned. I personally think he sucks as a character. And don't get me wrong, the first two Superman movies are awesome, but it's easy to see why the character isn't that popular anymore. I mean, it's the oldest character and without that, it wouldn't be considered one of the Big 3. Spidey and Bats are doing much better these days than Supes.

It will be interesting to see how the latest movies effect the different hero's popularity. Adding Iron Man and Hulk to the list. Heck, Hellboy is probably the most popular independent character thanks to the movies.

I think Chris Nolan and Heath Ledger have forever changed the portrayal of the Joker that we will see in the comics from now on. I am very glad that Nolan chose to change the character significantly and put his own stamp on it. He is still staying true to the psychological profile of the character, but he has made big changes to the cosmetics of the character. I personally think it's a badass change and I think a lot of people that were whining at first have come around as more pictures and footage have been released.
