Default I am having playback issues with Rio

I am having problems watching Rio. It freezes in different places and I have to hold the power button in to turn it off. I am using a Sony BPS-470 that is not connected to the internet and does not have a thumb drive or anything else like it attached to the rear. Also I have never updated it's firmware.

I am having the same problem although I don't think its related to hardware. Playback on my PS3 causes the same freezes described in the OP.

Ditto! Freezing up randomly in different spots. Running on PS3 with the lastest updates.

Default Same problem with freezing

I am having the same problem with the freezing on PS3, also noticed that the Dolby Digital 5.1 is not working. It is only being presented in Digital Stereo.

I bought the Blu-ray / DVD Combo pack from Wal-mart. The DVD plays as expected, dolby 5.1 included.

WTF?

If you rewind it, the issues go away, but not permanently.

Really!!! This isn't VHS lol. I don't post very often anymore but I hope your not a reflection of the new members.

Back on topic, I just watched a bit more of this with my son and wow this movie is really unwatchable. I really can't believe this slipped through the QA process. Maybe its just a bad batch. I got mine from Amazon.

Hmmmm.... I'm pretty sure everyone knew what he meant but as a new member let this be a lesson to me about being careful to use accurate terminology. Oh btw I corrected you're grammatical error but I knew what you meant. lol

I purchased the 3D Blu-ray combo pack, and the video freezes up too many times to count. Exchanged it for another disc at a different location (Best Buy), and the disc has the same problem. Anyone hear of any replacement program offered by Fox? (who should be throttled for allowing a QC Fail release on a major motion picture to make it to retail)

Similar problem here: my ps3 plays every game/DVD/Blu-ray perfectly except for Rio blu-ray, just a blank screen. I replace it for another copy in Wal-Mart, still got the same problem. I tried in one of the store's blu-ray player and in less than one minute it works! Now I'm confused...

I'm starting to think that the issue is with certain brands of blu-ray players. Both of my players are made by Sony (3D BD Player, PS3). Is everyone here using a Sony product for playback? And which brand player did you try it in at the store, PP_Perro?

Sorry, I can't remember, but I think I'll try watching the movie in a friend's PS3 (just to be sure it's not mine who have an issue) and some blu-ray players in other stores. Then maybe I'll be able to know where the issue comes from, Sony's product or Fox...

Question Same problem with Rio

We are having the same problem. Using our playstation 3 and we have exchanged it twice now. And all 3 blurays are doing the same thing. Skipping kind of sluggish in some parts. The audio is perfect but the picture is off.

We've tested the ps3 with other movies bothe live action, and animation and have no problems at all.

The digital copy plays fine and we haven't tried the DVD yet. In fact we are about to try the DVD right now.

Hope it just needs a firmware update or something. Ps3 says we have current update already.
