Granted I've only had it a couple days, but my new Panasonic G-15 looks amazing. Not sure what your budget is, but I ended up with the G-15 (50'')for $1100. Very worthwhile price if you ask me. Even in my room with many windows it looks great, and at night...WOW.
Can't wait for my HDMI's to come so I can hook up my Blu-Ray. I'm sure you know most people on this forum say Panny right away, so read around some different places. I did, and was pretty confident with my decision. |

I would also have to go with Panasonic. I have not seen a Samsung plasma or LCD that I have ever liked the picture on. Panasonics looked real nice to me though.

Well I have a 50" samsung pn50a450 in the bedroom and a 65" panasonic v10 in the living room. I would definitely say the panny is bad ass but also cost me 4x as much as the sammy did.

For a significantly larger TV, and also not even comparable models, the S1 series from Panny is comparable to the a450 series from Samsung

the g/v line of panasonic t.v's do not have compatible firmware with onkyo receiver's. i am currently having handshake issues via hdmi through my receiver to the t.v. if you google panasonic onkyo handshake issues you will find a lot of information and you may need to call panasonic to schedule to have one of their tech's out. i have one coming out on thursday to upgrade my firmware to 1.24 to 1.25.

I was just wondering how these two makers stack up against one another!
So how does the panny plasma model line up progress upwards? I know the V10 is the latest series, but just under that is that the G15? G10? I'm not sure how to read the progression in model numbers. Looking at a 58" V10, btw. |

Whichever is cheaper in the size you want. It's not like either one of these don't have good pictures.

See sig for my vote.
I won't buy Samsung ever again after a poor experience with their customer service regarding my blu-ray player, and the fact that I STILL can't play Ghostbusters, with no new firmware in sight.

You have to rely on 120/240hz to get a smooth picture (and personally I get nautious seeing a TV with 120/240 turned on, its too fake) from an LCD, Plasmas have a naturally smooth image. All that does is alter the true nature of the signal which is one thing I dislike about LCD's in general. The blacks have been noted as being deep in the LCD though, however the native contrast ratio is still maximum of 5000:1, and the plasmas are native 40000:1, which is considerably higher. There is no reason to get excessively deep black levels if your TV can't display all of the shades in between black and white or between all of the colors. It is also a more expensive set, which I do not believe is worth the extra money. As far as LCD's go, it is probably one of the best, however I still prefer the Sony over the Samsung version anyways.
