PSP 3000. I had the Ipod touch, but sold it back. The PSP is amazing, and I would definitely recommend the PSP 3000. I watch movies on my PSP all the time and I absolutely love it.

I'm sorry but I'm a proud PSP owner that hardly ever uses it to play games so that's not a good basis to purchase it or not. You can listen to music on the PSP as well.

psp is way too big for an mp3 player. and movies are just straight up too small for either. and touchscreen > not touchscreen. if he doesn't play games, theres no reason to get a psp.

That's a very ignorant statement. Many people watch movies on the PSP. And it does not have too small of a screen. It's in fact bigger then the Ipod Touch's screen. And people watch digital copies on there. Touchscreen is overrated. You get dirty fingerprints on there. And it's not too big. The PSP 1000 is too big, but the PSP 3000 is slim and is a decent size.

that in case may be a reason to get the ipod as the digital copies will not playback on a PSP

Yeah, but digital copies take up too much space on the Ipod Touch. I had one, and if he gets the 8GB he'll run out of room real fast.

As an owner of a PSP I would go for the itouch if your into watching movies and music. I think the itouch is better for movies/music. I find it really hard to put movies onto the PSP. I can not put the digital copies that come with my Blu-Rays onto the PSP. When I try to it takes hours to convert the file and sometimes I get a scrambled video. I can convert my DVDs easily to PSP format but again it takes hours to do so.

If your more into games then obviously go with the PSP and get UMD's for movies. Putting music onto the PSP is very easy as well. But like mentioned before it is rather bulky for an mp3 player.

Differing opinions are fine, but don't make statements like that when people do in fact watch movies on the PSP.

You can put some of Sony's digital copies on the PSP. However, digital copies aren't meant for the PSP. And in theory you can buy as many Memory stick pro duos as you want so you never run out of memory for the PSP.

You said movies are too small for the PSP and that you should only get it if you are into gaming. That's not true. People watch movies on there. Hence an ignorant statement. Why do you think there are UMD movies?

PSP, it's a better mp3 player. Interface isn't great, but if all you do is playlists on random (like myself) then it's fine. The sound quality is much better on a PSP than on any iPod, well it was for the PSP Phat, but I can't see Sony downgrading the sound quality...

disagree with me suggesting the touch all you want, but the fact remains..i have an opinion and that opinion is that both screens are too small to watch movies on.

move along

I have an 8GB iphone and i have 3 digital copy movies, and about 1.5GB's worth of music on it and still have 1.7GB left on it. I mean it all depends on how much you think you're going to use either. I'm not really a huge fan of the ipod touch, I'd much rather have an ipod classic. More space for your money. I had this opinion before I owned an iphone, before anyone decides to point that out

orginally, the ipod touch was supposed to be 120GB when it was first rumored. i was really disapointed when i found out the biggest size at launch would be 16 and the price point was 399.

I play the awesome games on the iPod Touch more than listen to music (in addition to using the other countless innovative programs), so I wouldn't really say it's that simple.

Well, the UMD manufacturers would disagree with you.

its not that simple of a choice, but since he's comparing 2 very different items, its the easiest way to go.

is everyone purposely arguing with me today?
