I know someone other than me is running Classe processors or amps, let's check in and see how you are doing with them.

I have had my SSP 800 for over a year now, and have to say despite the high price ($9k retail now), I think it is still high value. The SSP 800 forgoes the latest and greatest when it comes to bells and whistles, with no video upscaling and no auto EQ, but what it lacks in those areas, it makes up for in sound quality. I use the internal DAC to run my computer based music and am thrilled with the sound, as well as the sound from my Oppo running DVDs or Blurays.

As a 2 channel pre it excels as well.

I cannot fathom changing this piece in my system.

Cheers!

Hehe, thanks!

I listen to a lot of different types of music, really depends on what strikes me at the time I am listening. Rock, Pop, Jazz, Vocal, Ambient, are my most common, but I can appreciate Classical, Opera, even Country & Western...I really enjoy hearing new music I haven't heard before. I have been listening to some Porcupine Tree tonight, from their Bluray.

Thanks for stopping in!

Hey Kahuna,

I'm familiar with your system from the Classe thread at AVS Forum. I've had quite a few pre/pros in my day, and other than the Proceed AVP which I owned about 8 yrs ago, the Classe is by far the best for 2ch I've heard. In fact I've sold my 2ch pre because of it. Can't say enough about 'em.

Not too many Classe owners here but I'm guessing it's because of the price.

Jose.

Okaaaaaayyyyy...

Kinda like the B&W D to new Diamond debate: anyone pondering going from current Delta series amps to the new CT-based Delta line? Not sure I dig that vent design but better thermal management is a plus for me.

Can't say there's any multi-channel amp in the same price range that would make me give up my Sim Titan any time soon. I change/upgrade my equipment every 3 or so years but my Sim is here to stay. I've had it since 2002.

I think both lines are attractive...though I won't be trading my SSP in!

DIB, I think they are just having some fun...nobody really thought you were jammin your stuff into a rack!
I have owned Rotel and they make very nice stuff...though i haven't heard the digital amps I think their heat (lack of)and low power usage are admirable and make sense!

Hey Jose,

I have never heard the Sim Audio amps...out here on the left coast we are lacking in enough shops to try things out thoroughly!

Welcome to the Classe thread everyone!

A little bump...sadly, our local dealer still don't have the new stuff for demo. Anyhoo, picked up a pair of their used CA-M400 since the price seems reasonable (close to Agon's and includes full warranty!). Will try them out bi-wired then bi-amped with the CA-5200.
