Yeah, I wanted to use this cover as well, but I have yet to find it in a hi-res too. :(

I love these fan-made covers. I really loved a cover for Kill Bill I saw in here. But just wondering, how do you guys print your covers? Do you print them on ordinary paper at home, or do you buy the proper paper? Or does someone print them at a printshop?

As long as whoever designed the cover did everything properly they will print out on a normal piece of paper. You can use any kind of paper you want, although I prefer semi-glossy at least. Flat white looks too plain and glossy looks too shiny. Semi-glossy seems to make them look as genuine as possible, in my opinion.

If you have a really nice printer you can print your own at home. Although, I take mine to Kinko's and print them out there. Some home printers can look nice, but I've yet to see a home printer that does as nice a job as like a $5,000 dollar Kinko's printer. They print out like you bought the damn thing from the store.

There is a link in the OP to a thread about printing custom covers. Several of the tips were covered in the response before this one.

Harry Potter 1-6

I got All 6 of the Harry Potter Movies for Christmas, and I was wondering if someone could make ONE cover for years 1-3 and ONE cover for years 4-6 please? IF possible if they could kinda look like the NEW ULTIMATE EDITIONS that just came out? I don't have a blu-ray case that holds six discs so I figured that I would put them in two cases that holds 3 discs each. I would REALLLLLLLY appreciate it.

Actually. What you should do, is do 2 4-disc cases. That way you're set for when both parts of Deathly Hallows come.

Thats an excellent idea SethRex:rock:!!! Could someone possibly make those covers for me?

neptune 12-26-2009 01:23 AM

Can someone help me out with printing covers using photoshop??

On some I can print them just fine but some are huge and when I change the height and width the image gets real small... also I was thinking I can use a bluray cover template and just size it down to match that?? can someone please provide me with that template? Thanks in advance.

So what are the best fan-made artcovers for Inglourious Basterds?

Roger Clemente 12-26-2009 07:41 PM

I received a brand new Lexmark printer for Christmas and am looking to get myself into the custom cover game, but I have a few questions.

1.) What is the resolution for a standard one disc (or two-disc) case in pixels, even accounting for the fact that I will be printing in 300 dpi?

2.) What is the resolution for one of those 15mm cases that 3-4 disc movies (like Disney's Snow White or WALL-E) or a PS3 game comes in?

3.) What is the width in pixels of a spine for either of those cases? I tend to work on the spines first and work my way out?

4.) Does anyone also by chance have the resolution for a standard DVD case and the spine for it as well?

5.) Is there a place where one can find the little icons and stuff for decorating the package (like the little BD or DVD icon you see in the corner of the package or even the production company logos you see at the top or bottom of the spines?

Thanks in advance to whoever can assist me.

I like this one A LOT! But it seems like the red should continue onto the back a bit. Just my opinion though. I like the simplistic feel of the front.

Inglourious Basterds

Final version of Inglourious Basterds - took your advise jamclaur and added more red to the back. It does look better.
