Ah, OK. So I guess it's not appropriate as replacements for the regular cases. Cause the inserts would be too short.
Are there no cases that are simply the same as the blue BD-cases but then either "clear" or black?

Not sure about clear, but the Japanese Happinet blu-ray of Night of the Living Dead comes in a "clear" black case.

Yeah, I was thinking about this. You can't really do much in terms of editing images together seamlessly in InDesign right?
Like using brushes and all that kind of stuff...

Maybe it's best to first edit the artwork in Photoshop, and then assemble it in a template in InDesign, getting it ready to print.

I'm having a real hard time only positioning and sizing images with InDesign though.
They keep deforming even though I click all kinds of "lock aspect-ratio"-buttons and all that.
And I though Photoshop was hard to work with... It's Word all over again! D: :P

With InDesign use the "Fitting" command and tell it to fit the image proportionally. The "Fitting" command gives you several different options.

I'm somewhat surprised that no one has tried some mock Criterion Disney covers.

These might be perfect for that.

Yeah I had seen those the other day! Some are really nice. There's a Pinocchio one out there somewhere by the same guy that is really mehhh. I've always thought this Sleeping Beauty poster would be great for one, but it's dimensions are a little weird, it would have to be stretched: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_N5VYaU-tcb...ora.poster.jpg

So i made a slipcover to cover it(with matching inlay for the case itself coming soon):

Mixed some artwork with the background style of Wrath of the Titans, might make one for that one also when i get an idea for it. Awful movies, but i have to admit the promotional artwork has some really great stuff to work with.

I really prefer this cover art to the official release cover of the film. I enjoyed the film, even though it has it's issues in story but at least it's a fun popcorn film. Would it be possible to have a copy of the cover art you've made, once finished? I would like to use it to replace the awful rental copy art mine has.

The back isn't done yet though, will send you a copy once it's finished;)

I own King Kong (2005) on 2-disc DVD, 3-Disc DVD, and Blu-ray. So, naturally, it's taking up a fair deal of space on my shelf. To remedy this, I'm buying a 6-Disc Blu-ray case, and this is the cover I've made for it: http://oi44.tinypic.com/16kwdjs.jpg

I think I found that. But then, I think it still doesn't keep the original aspect-ratio.
It's just not clear to me how you can simply instantly resize an image by dragging, without deforming it.

If you choose the Proportional command in InDesign it will keep the correct ratio.

Don't drag the photo in InDesign, draw the image box and then use Ctrl D to choose the image that you want to import into that box. Then use the "Fitting" command.

Ah, OK. I'll give that a try. Thanks.

With Photoshop it's hold SHIFT down while dragging from the corner. If that's any help!

Whelp, now we'll have to see how many people re-upload their customs...

Hopefully, we get those Bond covers back on this thread!

Can I make a request? I am looking to move my Curious Case of BB and Drive blus into Criterion cases, anybody have any custom criterion art for these two? It would be much appreciated.

:)

runnersdialzero 06-09-2012 06:53 PM

Drive is here. Along with all my others.

Has anyone done a nice Jurassic Park Trilogy one that will fit a normal width case? I'd love to buy the trilogy, but I don't want its packaging on my shelf.
