Ok, Ive been a lurker of this thread for ages :lurking:

And I am wondering if i can request a cover with specifics. Do I post my wants here? Does the artist charge? whats the proper way of asking for something?

I want a 'Fast Times at Ridgemont High' cover for the BD only version (NOT the 100th Anniversary version with the DVD)

the one thing I REALLY want is a pic of Phoebe Cates in the red bikini (top off or not) on the back

Has anyone made a Minority Report custom cover? I couldn't find one in the running list on the 1st page. I think the original art is hideous and the steelbook is just too expensive.

I haven't, but I've been wanting to. I think I'll make that my next project.

Yep...add "The Great Train Robbery" with Sean Connnery and Donald Sutherland to Chrichton's credits too. He even did a commentary on the DVD.

I added a tagline to the "For Your Eyes Only" to more closely mimic the poster that the image was taken from:

This "Goldfinger" poster (from Spain) is a little unusual, though I have no idea who the woman is supposed to be:

I personally think the FYEO tagline makes the cover too busy, with the "Collection" text right above it as it is.

I have to agree i'm afraid. FYEO is one of my favourite Bond posters but the red on the cover is too much. It's almost like a border within a border, the poster image seems too confined by the black AND the red.
Sorry :(

Does anyone by any chance have a custom or scan for the Journey 2: Mysterious Island 3D cover?

Thanks in advance.

...and the 2nd one...

Did you, by any chance, see the cover I posted here? I'd show you the message, but of course, it got lost in the board crash...

Anyway, here's the almost final version.

Sorry :(

I also like the previous version a bit better on FYEO. I'm interested in seeing what you're going to do with Goldfinger (with using another poster image).

I like the red.

James Bond 007 Custom Blu-ray Cover

Yet more Bond.
I feel a bit silly posting these here since they're not up for grabs. I just really want to show them off, so I hope you'll indulge my exhibitionistic side. It's an emotional payoff, displaying my covers here after I've worked on them for days.
Sorry.

Simply Excellent! Hopefully your client will let you share these gems once completed. However I'm torn between your work and DrrnHarr's Bond versions....Both are top notch. Now bring on The Spy Who Loved Me.......

You do an amazing job at making unofficial Criterion cover art. I could actually see Criterion using most of them. You should try to get a job with there art department. Really stellar work! Keep it up!:)

runnersdialzero 07-12-2012 02:44 AM

Thanks for the kudos but I don't actually create the front cover art. I wish I was that talented. I just find cool movie art and make it into a Criterion. I do try to only use art that Criterion might use. I want to make sure there is a consistent theme to all the ones I do.

I love that frame you use for those Bonds, Nissen. The font on the back and front frame screams 1960s/Early 70s Bond (is that Univers? I can't quite place it), as does the gunmetal grey everywhere with the horizontal striations.

Regardless of the front poster, mostly I really like your presentation, and I think that's where your design skills actually matter most anyway. Nice job.

May I repay the compliment, Im. The ornamental flourishes on John Carter and the Looney Tunes covers are sensational. Grade-A work, my friend. My hat's off to you.

The font you asked about is Microsoft Yi Baiti (came preinstalled with Windows7, I believe) stretched horizontally about 170%.

As always, the final design is a result of some back-and forth with the client. The use of the gunbarrel on the top border was the client's request, the curvature and the black steel texture was mine. In the end, two heads are better than one.

Great as always!

What paper do you use to print on? I myself use Canon's Glossy Photo Paper II, which has good quality, but is a bit thicker and rougher than the "official" paper used to print Blu-ray covers on.

Some of you have already received this piece of news in e-mail, but for those hoping for a complete series of Bond covers with original TT's - it is not to be, at least from me.

I am willing to share the PSD template to anyone who wants to attempt to complete the rest.

The economic downturn became personal yesterday with the announcement that my position at work was being eliminated with my company going through a major downsizing.

I therefore really need to devote my time to finding a new job.

I've enjoyed getting to know some really great people over the past year, some very talented individuals, but I will no longer be producing custom covers.

Best wishes to you all.

Holy Shit! I feel for ya my friend, being out of work is nothing no one should experience especially if your used to a certain lifestyle and family commitments that suddenly change in a heartbeat. Hopefully your search won't be to long and you'll bounce back quick. I personally thank you for sharring your gifts of creating memorable blu covers and perhaps once you get your feet back on the ground, you will return to these forums and share once again. But until then, take care and best of luck to you.........

As always, available at euphoricfx.

I could kiss you right now. Short of just a plain cover with the emblem and the title on it (with tagline) this is exactly what I was hoping someone would do.

Tell me more about this euphoricfx?
