Well, as long as newsgroups are left alone I'll be fine... for all my not copyrighted things of course... EDIT: So if the government can do this crap now, why the need to pass SOPA or PIPA? |

And for Groo and everyone else, any thoughts on Rocketbirds? I too picked up a PSN card for the 12 for 12 sale and so far bought Pixeljunk Sidescroller and Rochard. Played a little PJS and kinda like it so far. Haven't played Rochard yet but I heard it's a nice little puzzle/platformer. I'm also curious about Cubixx HD too. |

Kinda hard to describe. Was looking at Rochard and Rocketbirds but just wasn't sure. Thinking about the NFL Blitz game though. |

I just don't understand how Cubixx plays. In the video below, does the player just control the vertical laser thing and cut the square? What's the goal, surround the little moving square items? Seemed like they were still moving around to me when the "level" finished. Maybe I shouldn't get it haha... |
your goal is to cut off a certain % of the board. So you want to trap those little things in as small a space as possible. Do that one each side. As you go through the game, they introduce other enemies and stuff you have to do, plus unlock time trials, and score attacks and that type of thing.

Capcom is good at making trailers that look amazing.

I've fallen prey to that SO many times that now I've adopted a "no-demo no buy" policy. Of course I violate that every damn month, but still...it's in effect. lol |

There are some games that you know more or less what to expect. You don't NEED to play Uncharted or God of War or COD because for the most part you know going in whether you will like those games are not, unless you're a complete new person to the franchise. But with some of these PSN games, I honestly believe they deliberately hold back demos because they know that many will try a demo and perhaps not like it and thus won't buy the game. They bank on the impulse shoppers (thumbs back at me) who will grab something because they loved the trailer or some random video released which may or may not be representative of the final product. THEN they release the demo a month later (sometimes sooner, sometimes later) after they get that initial money. Similar to how movies that are going to be pieces of shit, won't be screened for critics. They don't want the word of mouth to spread before that 1st weekend gross. Not a completely perfect analogy, but it's appropriate enough I think. |
Notice no Amy demo right?

I guess my point of view is if you are going to wait 4+ months to release a demo, why even bother? Chances are feedback, ratings and youtube gameplay videos are enough to persuade people against buying it if it sucks, and if it doesn't there probably would have been a demo in the first place. And maybe it's just me, but it seems like this impulse buyer hit-and-run demo mentality has only been this way for the past year or so? When I first got my PS3 I don't really remember having a hard time getting a demo for a game I was curious about. Edit: I also want to add that what originally made me think about this was that PJ sidescroller came out Oct. 24 and the demo will be out Jan. 24. It's not even a crappy game! Why hold off on a demo that long? If I had played a demo of it when it came out, I probably would have bought it. But I can't PSN impulse buy for anything more than $5 so I waited. |
so a friend of mine owed me some money so he sent me two PSN cards from BestBuy.com. $20 each and I got one last night and one today.
The one last night worked perfectly. The one today, I FINALLY got to enter it in just now, due to the maintence all day, and it won't work. Says invalid code. I'm entering it properly just as I have every other code I've ever used, and I know I'm putting in the exact code, because I printed the page off so I didn't have to keep switching back and forth from PS3 to computer (I use the same monitor). Not very happy right now. Now, due to the maintence keeping the PSN down all day thus keeping me from redeeming it til now, the Best Buy department is closed and I have to wait til tomorrow to hopefully get through and get this sorted out. GRRRR! |

And how they ever thought it was a good idea is beyond me. Did they forget what happened when they tried to make an example out of geohot? ======= In other news. Did you see the trailer for "Resident Evil 6"? OMFGSOBGDMFSHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT! Day one buy for sure. |
As I posted in the Resident Evil 6 thread:
Leon and Chris in the same game?! Best game ever! And apparently you can MOVE AND SHOOT now. There is a part of the trailer that has me a little worried. There's a part with some dude with a scar on his face and a chick with a white coat. She doesn't seem to be carrying any form of weaponry for defense, which leads me to believe you're going to have to protect her just like Ashley Graham in Resident Evil 4. If that's the case... I'M GOING TO HATE THAT PART!!! EDIT: I stand corrected. There is a short part where you see her carrying a gun. But still, in each scenario (Leon/Chris/new guy) there is at least one other person with the character. I don't really have a problem with that, but if the AI is as stupid as it was in Resident Evil 5, it will pose a problem. EDIT2: According to Wikipedia, Ashley Graham is in Resident Evil 6. I'm going to assume that was her in the white coat. It sounds like her voice. Hopefully she's toughened up since Resident Evil 4 lol. |
