The movie titles in your signature are very interesting. Especially "The Big Kahuna" and Glengarry, Glen Ross.

The Big Kahuna,
The Deer Hunter,
E.T.,
Glengarry Glen Ross,
The Grapes of Wrath
The Great Escape,
Jaws,
The Little Mermaid,
Miller's Crossing,
Parenthood
Raiders of the Lost Ark,
The Sting,
The Wanderers,
Watership Down (I remember reading the book as a child and then watching the movie. Brings back memories.:)

Those two movies, along with "Boiler Room" and "Wall Street" are required viewing for my new employees! There's another one you need to see if you haven't already,... it's called "Swimming With Sharks".

Never seen Swimming with Sharks. I'll look for it.

What do you do? Assuming something in finance, or sales, or both.

I work for a credit card processing/security firm. We create security software that prevent fraud and hacking for retailers and businesses. Right now, we have a very strong presence in the small to medium size businesses around the country. We are now in the process of securing some major outfits/retailers.

So yes, I am in the sales/finance division of our company. How about you? Being an American over in Taiwan, I assume you are in a similar career field (sales, technology, finance).

Nope. I love those films, an interest of mine. I studied finance in school, went to college in Canada, passed the first Canadian Securities Course. Decided to come to Taiwan in 1999 to learn Chinese, before China entered the WTO. A good plan, right?

I taught business English at banks and other companies around Taipei, trying to maake some connections. Got a job at a PR company, hated it (working 10-12 hour days, most behind a desk). Stayed 6 months at that. After 3-1/2 years in Taiwan, I hadn't learned much Chinese, I really liked teaching, so it became my career. Long story short, got married and bought a private English school in my wife's hometown, Hualien.

I feel like I've accomplished nada! That is so impressive Travis! You are truly making a difference! You have your own school!:itsnice: It has to be very gratifying, knowing that you are enhancing the lives of others. Outstanding my brutha, outstanding!

Never really thought of it like that. Thanks. I love teaching the little guys around 5 years old, they learn so quickly. Jr. High students are getting a bit surly. High school is better, they are starting to talk like people. Sometimes, I miss being just a teacher in Taipei. Less responsibility.

Someday, I want to have 2 keys on my key chain. House and car. Then I know I am successful, someone else has the keys and the responsibilities that go with them.

Off to bed. Have a good day.

Almost 8 pm. Time for a movie. Arthur 2, never seen it.

$6.99 for one of the most under-appreciated films of all time. http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Strang...-Blu-ray/1800/ It is a great movie.

Ready for next 2 days? Yep, no problem, as long as I have some cold beer in the fridge at the end of each day.

Thanks!

Baby is like a drug. It is a real high when she laughs and smiles. Then when she screams and cries, headache and dizziness sets in.

I can rarely finish 2 beer after work before I fall asleep on the sofa. It isn't the sun and the heat though, it is a more serious problem called
[Show spoiler]getting old!
