How far along is she?

12 weeks. Had a sonogram and a 3D sonogram a few days ago, seeing it move around was cool. Moved a lot. Found myself saying, watch out for that cord. Hearing the heartbeat was cool, twice as fast as ours.

It is about 4cm big, and has legs and hands and eyes and ears and a TAIL! No, no tail. It sure did look a bit alien though.

We will go back for a HD level 2 sonogram in a couple of weeks. Not sure what it is for exactly, to check development. But I signed on as soon as I heard HD.

You'll be amazed to watch how quickly it grows and changes over the next few months. Congratulations again. :)

Do you or your wife have a preference as to the gender of the baby?

I have been teaching kids for a while now and I have seen how much easier girls are to deal with, when they are young. So we want a girl for the first one. Boys are so active in the beginning; then they get surly in the teenage years. Not looking forward to that.

We (me, her, family, friends, acquaintances, etc.) all have a feeling it is a boy.

If it is boy that is great too. Star Wars toys, light sabers and all the other stuff i miss playing with.

Todd has inspired me to re-watch all my BD's. I will take the next 23 weeks to watch 190 movies. Thinking Dec 31st is a good deadline, 161 days, 23 weeks.

Good evening Travis! ;) :D

Everything is okay. But got a troll over at my Chinese Subtitle Thread. Just looking for some info for my wife and myself. Then, someone wanted to stop by and be a pain in the neck. You know what is like, when members try to get smart by pointing out stuff you didn't say, or explain, when they should just focus on the stuff that was said and the topic of the thread. Why even post if you aren't adding to a thread? I guess some do add their negativity.

Hey Travis! How you doing my friend?

Okay here. Picked up some bare bones Blu-rays, no special features or top menu, and every movie has only 6 chapters or so. Put out by a company here called Pony. Think they might have a relationship with Alliance in Canada, some of the same titles.

Wasn't planning on it, but they were cheap to begin with, and buy 2 get 1 free made it hard not to pluck every disc off of the shelf.

I'll have 198 when the Alien Anthology arrives. Count is not accurate because many are in boxed sets. Find it is quicker to scroll that way. Even thinking of putting Bourne as a set, even though I bought them separately. I keep going back and forth, some days I even put Rome, Rocky and The Godfathers as single editions on the list, they are available in France.

Morning Travis,

How's everything going with your wife?

Great. Thanks for asking. Had another obstetrician visit last Saturday, #3 and the doctor was very good, think he might be the one we'll pick to deliver. The only problem was in the hospital a nurse did the ultrasound and took 49 seconds. Would like a little more time.

We may go to the Buddhist Tzu Chi Hospital for tests (didn't care for the doctor there, and all meals are vegetarian:eek:) and take the results to new doctor at the Mennonite Hospital, where we went on Saturday. A little more running around, but the Tzu Chi Buddhists have some good equipment. Looking at a HD Sonogram soon. Already had a normal one and a 3D one, it was cool and orange.

We didn't have a 3D done...wish we did. Sounds like you guys are doing good though which is good to hear.

May just get the Taiwan edition, it is here, so no S&H charges.

You have to watch it with the subtitles...the dub is way to weird to listen to. This is on another level for sure, way different than Tru Blood or Twilight. Hard to compare it to anything really.

Just got it yesterday. Problem is I want English subtitles, wife wants Chinese. Her English is a million times better than my Chinese, but she gets tired reading for an entire movie. So, I may watch it by myself and then watch it with her. I am not a fan of dubbing, unless it is a Spaghetti Western.

:rotfl: That is so true! I always wondered, did Clint speak in Italian in those movies and then dubbed over?

Hey Sean,

Everything is okay. Baby stuff is settling down and summer has been real slow for hours. Timing is everything.

How is everything going with you? Have you moved yet? Gotten that $2,000 CD player?

English, I believe. Everyone else Italian. Think it is in the documentaries. Gotta go rewatch them and the movies too. And the sound was laid down afterwards, so no "Quiet on the set!" In the doc. he said it took some getting used to. They added some new material in Good, Bad & Ugly that was not done before and got Clint and Eli to come in and do the dubbing. Even though it is them, their voices are very different now and stand out like a sore thumb.

Good Afternoon my Good Friend.
I hope you are all doing well.

Whats up with this movie thats listed at the top of the Forum.Called Red Cliff I & II.
Its Audio is Mandarin with English Subtitled.

They give it great ratings here.I have enjoyed Martial Arts movies lately.
May have to look into this one as well.

DangeRuss 07-27-2010 10:31 AM

Good morning fellas

I too have heard nothing but good things about those movies as well as IP man. Now generally I'm a bit of a pureist. But when it comes to martial arts movies I perfer the english dub tracks. Mainly because they are shot so well and the action so fierce /fast, I'll miss something with my eyes being glued to the bottom of the screen reading. On the other hand I do like hearing the movie in it's native tongue. So I watch them both ways. :p

My wife enjoyed it more than I did. She was familiar with all the characters and the story. They learn about the "Three Kingdoms," when they were in school. I have a statue of Guan Gong aka Guan Yu. Usually see pictures and statues him with a red face and a long beard.

I didn't care for Red Cliff that much, not a huge fan of that genre. But I do love Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

I'd say rent it first.
