I liked it, but that's just me. ;)

I don't blind buy a lot; I will rent it for certain. Won't be surprised if it is not a complete waste of time. Steve, a.k.a. The Avatard, doesn't always have the best taste in films.

Gonna try my special edition DVDs of the theatrical releases later. See how the new Marantz is at up-converting it.

Got some GNC stuff for shakes, just cannot do it in the morning. Should try again. Used to use ice, banana, yogurt, and whey powder. This morning was just coffee for me.

[Show spoiler](actually, when I had to change my OS from Internet Explorer to GOOGLE recently, on this site & others, if I spell a word incorrectly, it does the same thing with the word coming up Underlined, so I know it's spelled wrong ;) )

My 2 PA-120's may not be hSu's, or SVS's, or EPIK's, but for my size room & how they're calibrated into my system, they perform Quite Well, tyvm. ;)

 :umm:  :panic:

Wait a second - per your Above post (1st one), you seem like you Like the film, then here you say it's not that engrossing. Which is it? Do we need Massive Subs or 5-Star HT's to enjoy a SUB PAR film that was pretty much torn to shreds by movie goers And critics? I thinketh not, Lord HTG' :p

DRIVE ANGRY I could see where some might not get it, or enjoy it like some of us did. ZOMBIELAND I just finished the other day (I'd only seen the first 25 mins., less than I thought), & it was alright, not bad, not great. 3.5 of 5 for Story/overall movie
I'm not a bass "fiend", but I do enjoy some nice LOW-END in certain movies & if it Fits the scene. Yes, some of the members here may fall into that category, but if the movie is horrid, it's still horrid even w/great AQ.
While some recent :meh: movies might look & sound very good/Great
[Show spoiler](even Spectacular as in :jawdrop: :yikes: )
, if the story is sub par, how many times are you going to re-watch it or recommend it to friends?

So Steve, were we having a hard time comprehending what I wrote? Sorry for the confusion. I thoughly enjoyed Jonah Hex and have recommended it to many ppl based on the SQ alone. I'm sure you are quite happy with your PA subs. But until you have experience sub 20Hz performance then you really do not know what your missing. I am not a bass fiend...I am a audiophile with a very large room to fill with sound. This requires multiple subs capable of playing at reference level and I was willing to pay a premium for subwoofers that can play down to 10Hz. I have watched the entire movie twice since I bought it and I have used it in demos three times.

In closing we agree to disagree. :D

hometheatergeek 08-22-2011 12:21 PM

HAve a good evening Travis and don't aim that dutch oven our way...ya hear?

Raiders12 08-22-2011 02:04 PM

No problem. They posted THIS also from the Home Theater Forum site; a bit more insight from the sound guy at ILM, Matthew Wood, on what they did to the films. A better read, if you ask me.

Lol - No problems bud, it's fine. Seriously. Yes, if my room were much larger, prob./perhaps I'd need Subs that went lower than my PA-120's do, that's a given. But, as MY Home Theater/Living Room area is just a somewhat small 11x13 room, they work perfectly fine & adequate. I too consider myself an Audiophile, albeit with a slightly Smaller area to play in & enjoy movies. I'm sure if the HT area I had was 2x or so the size, hearing Subs you refer to would leave me like this:  :yikes: :jawdrop:, followed by :panic: :panic: knowing what I'd need to spend, & lastly,    after install/calibration/testing had been completed.

:D :D :D :D
