What I saw looked amazing. Had Redux on DVD so I picked the '79 edition too. They did a great job. I did see Hearts of Darkness, which was excellent.

Glad you got around to the Documentary. I KNOW it's amazing & though I've not seen it in years, I'll watch it soon.

Well Chargers are done. The list of loses this year is interesting because they lost to teams they should have destroyed. Typical Chargers!

Last week of the year already!

Went back to the store, and they should be delivering chair today.

Travis 12-28-2010 05:11 AM

Rented Despicable Me. Did not care for it much, AQ and PQ were great, but movie was not. Story, dialog, characters were just not anything special. Think kids will like it, some silly and cute stuff in there. Surprised reviewer here gave it such a high mark for the movie. Movie 2.5/5, worth a rent; glad I didn't buy it.

landry_p2000 12-28-2010 05:44 AM

Hey Travis. Just stopping by to say Hello, and hope that all is well with your wife and baby. Have a good one. :)

Good to see that your chair will be getting straightened out:rock:

I liked Despicable Me:rolleyes::o:D, but everyone has different tastes:D

Good evening Travis!!! :D Hope you and your wife and baby are all doing well :)

Travis 12-28-2010 12:42 PM

Baby and wife are doing well. I am exhausted, doing extra hours at work and all the work around the house, except folding laundry, just cannot do it well.

Recliner arrived tonight. It is very comfortable, would do well in a HT. It will be in baby's room for time being.

So does that mean you will be sleeping in the baby's room? :p Or watching movies in there?? ;) :D

Wife thinks I will be rocking the baby, feeding it, and napping with it in the chair; the real reason she said I could have it. Got an old AVR (Marantz SR5200) and DVD player, if I can get some speakers I could have a little 2ch setup in the baby's room. Will be in a HT someday, when we go into a bigger house.

potee 12-28-2010 03:06 PM

Hi Travis, New chair new baby Life just can't get better then that. Oh forgot to mention 2CH system in babies room to make feeding and changing go better. Your one lucky guy

Just gotta get wife to sign off on new speakers, chance 16%. I'd love to get new fronts and new center, zero chance of that right now. Getting some lower priced bookshelves for baby's room could be. Probably will be stuck with the BOSE SoundDock, which wife bought me a few years ago (because it is BOSE).

Thinking of getting some small Wharfedale's, price and quality should be good enough, and may get approved. 9.1's are still around for 5,000TWD ($170). 200 bucks will be limit. Wish me luck!

I just got a few yesterday, Groundhog Day, Office Space, Carrie, and Invincible.

Need more comedies in my collection. I seem to gravitate towards 80's comedy for some reason, not sure what to get next... Just ordered Ghostbusters too.

I am excited & can't wait to see Leon after reading the review. I should get Inception & Toy Story tomorrow.

I need Inception, rented BD, waiting on price. Seeing so many BDs I bought at 7.99 now has put me in a waiting mode. Especially since most of my BDs I have only seen once, I need to wait. Maybe I'll get Inception next Black Friday.

Off to work. :(

bz1080p 12-29-2010 11:26 AM

Inception is a great BR, I'll probably watch again this weekend:rock:

Inception was great, just didn't care for Ellen Page's character. Waiting to rent The Town and Expendables, think I may wind up buying both eventually.

Travis 12-29-2010 11:33 PM

Even though I am trying not to buy, I cannot help but look. The start of 2011 has just a few so far. Pre-ordered Rob Roy and Excalibur a while back.

Looking to rent:
Red
Stone
Secretariat

Got on DVD but don't watch often enough, still thinking of getting:
Dances with Wolves
The Color Purple
Rain Man
Once Upon a Time in America

So far, not much of interest announced for beginning of 2011.:(

The Incredibles in Spring!

Any rumors for E.T., Finding Nemo, Indiana Jones Trilogy, Jaws, The Little Mermaid, Lord of the Rings Extended Editions, and Scarface?

Sad about no theatrical releases of original Star Wars. At least we got proper releases of Alien, Blade Runner, Apocalypse Now, and Close Encounters.

Travis 12-30-2010 03:40 AM

Doctor visit went well. Wife is doing great and was recommended to walk a bit, not so much bed rest is needed. 44 days and counting till life is turned even further upside down.

Aerodude73 12-30-2010 04:35 AM

Do you mean "REDS" (below), with Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren & Richard Dreyfuss? Very good movie, enjoyable, much more than I thought it would be. I'll def. BUY this one. :D

Secretariat was real good too.

There are threads for some of the ones you're looking for ("Blu-Ray Movies & Releases"), you just have to search in that main thread.

Can't wait for Dances/Wolves on Blu-Ray. One of my all-time favorites (1990 release!  :p)

Reds, nope that's not it! Reds is a Diane Keaton film. Surprised you mixed them up. :naughty: We all know how you go for the older ladies. Guess Red has some talent too.

I want to see Red with Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren & Richard Dreyfuss. http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Red-Bl...8296/#Overview

I like the original Dances with Wolves, got the extended cut on DVD, much better than the remake with all those blue Thundercats.

Aerodude73 12-30-2010 04:52 AM

Oh yea - RED. My eyes & mind are wiped it seems. Just browsing around looking at some deals (BB 2 for $22.98, Amazon: Samsung & Panasonic 58" Plasmas at $11-1200 <--- for FUTURE reference only)

I have the Director's Cut of "Wolves" on DVD also, but haven't watched it yet (bought it within the last year or so). I'll watch it soon though; it's been a while so it'll be good to revisit this classic.

"THE NATURAL" ($7.99!) should be in next week (1/4/11 expected date) & the DVD of "TRUE GRIT" came in today; mainly for my friend who Loves it
[Show spoiler](as do I, but I'll get the blu-ray; maybe at BB with my RZ points, as they recently added 750 Additional points to my account after I sent them an email about that whole $10-20 Reward Zone "bonus" for 'certain' members, not ALL the members ;))
, who wants to see the new one with his GF, but she's never seen the 69' original one. They'll prob. watch it Friday night & catch the New 2010 one a few days later (if not the wk-end).

Was never able to find True Grit at a good price on DVD, seen it many times though. Got Rooster Cogburn (and the Lady) though. Will get the True Grit BD for sure.

Never seen The Natural, not much of a baseball fan or do I have any interest in baseball movies. I do like my football and boxing movies and some other sports stuff too (Seabiscuit).

Aerodude73 12-30-2010 06:24 AM

Right now, True Grit (1969) is just $10.49/Amazon
[Show spoiler](I paid $11.49 a couple days ago/arrived today)
. Weirdly though, it's currently "out of stock". No doubt I'd think, to interest in the new movie spurring people to buy the original.

Rooster Cogburn is just $6.99, maybe I'll get that one (no info on any release date for the blu-ray). The BD of TRUE GRIT is $18.49; maybe it'll go down but not right away as it just came out.

The Natural, to me, is kind of like THE FIGHTER (Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Melissa Leo), where it's not All about baseball, but about the characters just as much, in relation to the storyline.

Seabiscuit was picked up recently (great price) & I really want to watch that as it's been Years & that movie is freakin' excellent! William H. Macy as the track announcer is hilarious but spot-on with his dialect/diction used for his character. :D

Doing well. Just having a coffee, getting ready for the last day of work of 2010.

Special new year in Taiwan, here it is year 99, 99 years since Taiwan (R.O.C., Republic of China) was formed, even though its B-day is Nov. 10th:confused:. Many people use this system, so if you ask someone what year they were born they may reply 64, meaning 1975. Food here has expiry dates with the Taiwanese year, which always has me asking my wife what year it is in Taiwan. Anyway, lots of people will be out for this centennial, but I'll be home with wife, just the way I like it.

Enjoy Toy Story, I think it is the best of the the 3. Many people say part 2 is, but they are all clinically insane.
